Me hole.

Thank god that's finally over. What's the betting the FAI will get it totally wrong again?

Rumour that they are bringing in Dein to advise them on the appointment of the next manager.

From the Irish Times:

Staunton flew in from Birmingham to attend the Radisson meeting in person and it is said to have lasted half an hour. The FAI board then reconvened to another, unknown location - without Staunton - and the 10 members of the committee discussed the manager's fate for approximately six hours.

The FAI did not disclose Staunton's fate until releasing a press statement at 1.37am.

Staunton's predecessor, Brian Kerr, was not afforded the luxury of putting his case to his employers when losing his job two years ago and is critical of the FAI's role in this latest episode.

"They do their business in mysterious ways, it's smoke and mirrors stuff and it's hard to give them any credit," he told Newstalk.

"They have been found out big time on this one. There are two or three decent ones in there but the majority of them you wouldn't allow to mind your corner shop for 10 minutes.

And is it true Liam Brady suggested on RTE last night that Ron Atkinson would make a suitable replacement?

An adviser eh? It's just the FAI abdicating from responsibility again, they're only doing it so they have someone else to blame when it goes wrong this time.

You just know they'll appoint O' Leary and we'll all end up pining for Stan'n'Bobby.

Robson's staying on, apparently.

Probably couldn't afford to pay him off. I presume it's just for the Welsh game, but you never know with these muppets. It would be typical of the FAI to foist Robson on a new manager simply because it would save them money.

Corner shops are the mainstay of the idle Irish (like me), why get in the car and go to get 2 ltrs of milk, a loaf of bread and some chocolate for a wee cup of tea in ASDA or Tesco for a £2(or 3 euros) coin, when you can go up to the hoodie hang-out and get the very same for the guts of a fiver(or 8 euros)?

rumour is Venable is being linked ffs

I'm half tempted to apply myself as I'm pretty confident I can undercut Brady, O'Leary and that french guy Trouser in pay terms

I say 'Venable' as they cannot afford the many 'Venables' so will settle for just one.

He should never have been appointed in the first place but he's brought on a fair few young players so at least the new fella has something to start with, which Stan barely had.

Would be fun to listen to them boo Souness for 2 or 4 years, if nothing else.
