Mike Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 did anyone hear any different? not sure i did. the campione chant is s***e. needs to be said.
Redwire Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I heard a difference......it was a much worse atmosphere than I expected against Chelsea. Pretty poor really.
Cobs Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 i heard a great rendition of 'You're not singing anymore' after we scored
johngibo YPC Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I didn't notice anything different, but i spoke to a few people in there who said they thought it was good.I guess its too early to judge
kop205 Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Was my bro's turn on the season ticket yesterday, so don't know. Mate who was there said he was disappointed in the atmosphere, though he was in the Main Stand. I like the campione chant though.
Barnesy_10 Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 the campione chant if not done right just sounds a bit messy, which it did yesterday, no distinction in words or anything, though seeing as the lyrics are utter s***e its probaby best off that way. I was sat in the Lower Centenary and I think the rendition of Fields of Anfield Road was the loudest and best chant of the game... though YNWA at the start was pretty impressive too.
RedNik Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Don't know where it came from, but the 'we got the best midfield in the world...' was pretty loud yesterday.
Will Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Well it was non-stop singing in there first half; more sporadic second half - and there was a good variety of songs going off, including at least 3 or 4 go's at Every Other Saturday for example. No idea what it sounded like from elsewhere, or how it compared - but I enjoyed it, and the view was better than I had feared as well. Made a change to be stood up all game compared to being sat in the Main Stand
Gerrardrules Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 i heard a great rendition of 'You're not singing anymore' after we scored Heard it as well!
Billy Dane Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I sit in block 205 and think a lot of the songs are started by block 206 (?). Having said that could hear more singing starting over to the right of me than previous years, but the atmosphere after their penalty was poor. Got the feeling the crowd didn't expect us to come back and get a second, so could hear the Chelsea fans singing instead. The left side on the Kop has always been better than the right side anyway.
Cunny Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I thought the atmosphere was pretty good yesterday but it was always going to be for Chelsea. The games against Toulouse and Derby will be better indicators of it's effect.
Guest Ant Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I was in 202 and we didn't stop singing... It's games like Fulham at home on a wednesday night or some stupid time like that where the RTK has to perform, not games like Chelsea, Everton, Mancs where a good atmosphere is a given
Guest ziggystardust Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 people really need to learn the words to campione and not just oh campione. It sounds pretty s***e at the moment tbh.

allez les rouges Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I was in 202 and we didn't stop singing... It's games like Fulham at home on a wednesday night or some stupid time like that where the RTK has to perform, not games like Chelsea, Everton, Mancs where a good atmosphere is a given exactly right. my ST is in 206. during the first 20 mins of the first half, they were singing great old songs. but, the problem is that no one knew them. therefore, the whole kop wanted to sing but couldnt becuase of 20 year old songs were being sung (unless you go to the aways). Its great that these songs should be brought back, but they are better suited (at the moment) for the likes of wigan and blackburn when people can learn the words and join in. i felt that the block at times stopped the rest of the kop from singing.

Sion Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Reading CFCnet they reckon their away support out sang us for the whole game and we were piss poor.
smicer07 Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Reading CFCnet they reckon their away support out sang us for the whole game and we were piss poor. Yes but they said that after the CL semi final last year aswell
suzyv Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 (edited) I was in block 208 and i did think that the some off the songs took of more quickly then they usually do. I agree thought that singing songs like liver bird on my chest (which i personally love) took away from the atmosphere because hardly anybody knowes them It is no good saying go to the aways because it is all about building up a good atmosphere at anfield. I think that they should stick to the popular songs at the moment and perhaps one old favourite being sung at each match until everbody knowes the words perhaps put them up on the foroums before the gane for people to learn. early days yet and hopefully they will be a sucess and not a distraction. Sat in row 28 myself.
Mike Posted August 20, 2007 Author Posted August 20, 2007 campione is s***e.if it is to be any good, it should be completely slowed down, and the verse is just s***e.it may just be ok if its just 'oh campione the one and only we're liverpool' repeated ad infinitum.
