Looks like more than speculation to me.

It says here

Liverpool midfielder Danny Guthrie has agreed to join Premier League rivals Bolton on a season-long loan deal.

The 20-year-old, who came through the ranks at Anfield, will complete the paperwork on the deal when he returns from his summer holiday.

"Danny is a dynamic midfielder who is very comfortable on the ball," said Bolton manager Sammy Lee.

"He has a tremendous work-ethic and has got a great engine. He is a good passer and will suit our type of football."

Shrewsbury-born Guthrie spent part of last season on loan at Southampton and also made three substitute appearances for Liverpool.

Guthrie will join Jlloyd Samuel, Gavin McCann, Blerim Dzemaili, Gerald Cid and Zoltan Harsanyi as new arrivals at the club.

Romario. It's in the transfer spec thread.

You can't seriously expect anyone to wade through that ocean of s*** to check first.

Quotes from Sammy Lee over the hop. No idea why the original thread got closed seeing as it's not speculation and the kid deserves wishing the best of luck. I agree with the orginal poster though, it's good to see us loaning out to teams in the top division :)

Think he'd have been better at Southampton to be honest... Best of luck at Bolton though, hopefully Sammy will give him a chance to be a regular.

Reopened CC so that people can discuss the implications of this transfer.

I don't think there are any like. Maybe we need to buy another central midfielder to cover for him ;)

I'd like to see Hammill go out on loan to another Premier League club as well - see what he can do at the highest level.

He's got the talent I think.

Didn't someone suggest we're trying to flog him?

Yes - and hopefully they were wrong.

Be silly to flog Hammill after his excellent loan performance and without seeing what he can do at the highest level. Give the lad a f*cking chance before you sell him, he's clearly got ability.

A loan makes infinately more sense.

I agree but guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Agreement. He'd be a good addition to a Derby/Birmingham squad.

I'd like to see him get a couple of games in pre-season with the first team squad before we even consider loaning him.
