He's had a really, really good season - in fact he finished last season well too. I think he deserves to be in the England squad.

I'm not saying I want him at Liverpool or anything, but I think I'd pick him for England on the left of midfield. He offers more heart and more goals than any of the other options on that left hand side and is of course actually left footed.

He's got a cracking strike on him and a real eye for goal. United was an excellent example of him reading the game well - he had no right to be following that shot in for his goal playing at left midfield, but there he was for a poachers finish.

People have talked about McClaren picking a team rather than just shoving all the best players into the first eleven and playing half of them out of position - I think Taylor on the left would add a bit of what England lack at present, with Lennon on the right and Gerrard and Hargreaves in the middle.

his club performances have warranted McLaren to have a look at him - not sure he's international class but that's not stopping a fair few others getting a look in

He's had three good seasons now. He's really good going forward but maybe that's covering some deficiencies in his defending? I like him as a player.

You can see McClaren thinking - need a left footed player, in good form, scoring goals who will add balance and endeavour. Barry? No. Taylor? No.

" Hi, is that Keiron Richardson? You're starting our next, vital qualification games".

I think that he is quite average without his goals, but he does deserve a call up for england as he does have a habit of scoring goals and does offer some balance to the left hand side

He'd be a refreshing change from the same old drivel that gets picked everytime. I think it would do England good to rest the likes of Lampard, Hargreaves etc and let the likes of Taylor have a game, especially against the weaker teams. I think we would see more passion and heart.

Shorey's set piece delivery was good I thought

He's a good player, as is Taylor. They've no bloody hope of getting a call up when the manger's reluctant to give Barry a proper go and doesn't even think of promoting Baines from the U21's though.

And continues to pick Kieron Ricardson in his squad.

This is exactly my point - Taylor is doing so much more at Premier League level than Richardson and Downing, it only seems fair he gets a call up ahead of those two plonkers.

i think even McClaren knows that one

When he's fit there's no doubt at all on that one.

when he's not, we end up with genuine half-wits playing on the left.

youre forgetting that SCS often picks P Neville in his squad.

'Promising' players with 'potential' and on a run of 'good form' have no hope when up against such masters of the game.

The epitome of the modern footballer

= total and utter c***.

Even the mancs can't stand him.

Richardson does actually have potential :o there, i said it !

at the moment when he plays he has his head down far too much and tries (and in the main, fails spectacularly) to do something fancy/complicated with the ball, instead of remembering it's a team game and keeping it simple.

He has time on his side to improve, but i dunno if he's got the mental wherewithall to understand he's not remotely near as good as he thinks he is and he needs to really knuckle down and work at his game.

But he does have a decent left foot and is pretty quick.

Keiron Richardson is perhaps the biggest chancer in the premiership. He is utter crap. If he does have potential he's hiding it very very very very well.

That Under 21 game at Wembley was perhaps the worst single performance by a footballer I've ever seen. And I saw Brian Deane up front for Leeds.

Sean Dundee's little cameo sub appearance v Leicester is still my No.1 'he shouldn't be paid for that' performance

but agreed - Richardson was schite the other week, as i think i've already said.

same goes for downing.

they're both sh*te though.

not sure Downing has that much pace

Kieron Richardson hasn't got anywhere near as much ability as Kieron Richardson thinks he has. That's a big part of the reason he won't get any better.

He clearly thinks he's made it, when in actual fact he's achieved the sum total of f*ck all in the game, apart from being the worst player on the pitch by a country mile in the first game at the new Wembley.

He'll end up at Boro or Bolton when he's 25 with lots of United sub appearances and a few spells on loan, still thinking he's too good to play for them.
