What a load of schite. Haven't laughed as much in ages, not since the friend with the nanny night.

SWP? have you ever seen a worse forward?

Joey Barton? He's a thug, not an international footballer.

Neville - one trick pony.

Lampard - the most overrated player in the history of football.

People criticised SGE but McLaren is just a total dunce - his tactical genius consists of "Lump it forward asap":lol::lol:

They gave him the job because he got Middlesborough to the UEFA Cup final, but then hid the fact that Middlesborough were thrashed 0-4 and played off the pitch.

I predict a rosy future for all you Ingerlund fans ;)

"No excuses ... but half a squad missing tonight."

He got the job cos Big Phil said "no"

And which half of the squad were missing

COULD have picked a decent goalie. ther than John Terry he had a decent enough back line available - except that no-one can play left back anyway

MF, had SG/FL in and who else available.... Downing has played a couple of games recently etc

Forwards were avaialble except the Little Welshman and Rooney

Sorry, but I'm not sure half his squad was missing. Maybe 2-3 first teamers BUT.... this was a friendly when the point of playing them would be...what?

A perfect occasion to try new tactics wasted - he hasn't got the nouse to be a manager.

He is Howard Wikinson re-incarnated.

The FA panicked after the Big Phil fiasco, and quickly appointed the only English cadidate the press approved off. He only got the job because there was no other viable English alternative (Fat Sam = negative football; Curbishley = not enough big game experience).

Why the feck he is considered a tactical genius is beyond me. He is a mediocre manager at best.

And yes, Lampard is absurdly overhyped.

A perfect occasion to try new players wasted, as if anyone needs to see what Phil Neville can(not) do at left-back.

That was very funny last night.

Tactial genius Mclaren decided to tackle the old left side problem in a totally novel way. Play a right footer (who has been playing central midfield this season) at Left Back with absolutely no-one in front of him. :D

true...but we know we're shyte...you lot are under the delusion youre a force in world football and are just a good manager away from a world cup win.

I thought the single most ridiculous decision of the week was to recall Kieron Dyer who is the biggest pile of over-rated shoite I've seen in English football in years (Lampard notwithstanding). And last night he was appalingly bad and I thought - maybe, at last, that performance will drive the final nail into the coffin of Dyer's international career - and then in the post match interview McLaren says "there were some positives - the performance of Kieron Dyer for one". If I cared I'd cry.

The FA and the FAI have hired their own 'yes' men in McLaren and Staunton. I'm Irish and was gutted to see San Marino concede the late goal - was all over the sofa laughing when they equalised.

Watched the England game until the 60th min when subs happened then watched Ireland game.

Question for Pat - Is there any chance in the world of us getting Villa, impressed by him last night.

how the fec would he know

True.

but I do know that he's given his word to Madrid ;)

you get the impression with lampard that he's untouchable in the england set-up, he coasts through games. the whole england set-up needs a root and branch shake-up. it's all about arrogance and conceit at the moment, and it's pretty horrible to observe.

Second Choice Steve is hardly the man to deliver that though, is he? Even if the FA did decide to break with the habit of a lifetime and look at changing anything themselves.

He's a good player Barton.

Don't see how either Neville could be described as a one trick pony. It begs the question...what is the trick?

being the best english player in his position for the last 10 years(gary obviously not phil)

Or being a pig-ugly thicko militant strike-happy kn*bhead. You decide.

I agree. Look past the c*nt that he is, and you'll actually see a very good footballer.

He deserves a place in the squad based on his performances for City over the last couple of seasons.

it was never going to be the case though was it? and the FA aren't going to risk de-feathering their nest by appointing a manager who will kick a few egos around.
