Guest Scot Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 I think thats a f***ng disiaster for football here... And for me, personally, to have to see his vacant fizzog on the telly
Knox_Harrington Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 (edited) What a waste of a good footballer. EDIT: Not a dig at the US. Beckham's wasted his career/had it wasted for him from Madrid onwards. Edited January 11, 2007 by Knox_Harrington

Guest Scot Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Translated to "Victoria has decided to move and David will play for the closest football team" More like: 'Beckham's career at Madrid is f*cked....so 'Dayved, let'z go where the sealebritees are!'
CarraLegend Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 More like: 'Beckham's career at Madrid is f*cked....so 'Dayved, let'z go where the sealebritees are!' True and "David is a complete c***" fits well too.
JohnnyH Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Is it true that it's a five year contract? Seems a long time for one so old and s****?
Tosh Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Mmmm There goes any chance of getting his 100th cap/playing for 2nd choice Steve
Serko Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 £128million over the 5 years apparantly. Not bad work if you can get it.
Tosh Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 £128million over the 5 years apparantly. Not bad work if you can get it. OK, I'd trade the 100th cap for that
Gilps Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 How long before he's in the papers for shagging up and coming actresses behind his wife's back then?
Greenoak Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Only in the USA will he earn massive money. Faded glory but a "Superstar" is all that matters to the home of spin and BS
Boca Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 How long before he's in the papers for shagging up and coming on actresses behind his wife's back then?
Superjay Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 I heard he was going to do this months ago. Apparently it has all to do with his "acting career".
jon_hall Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 I heard he was going to do this months ago. Apparently it has all to do with his "acting career".Ronaldo and Drogba will make a f***ing fortune then
New York Red Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 It's pretty big news here. Front story on CNN. That's a big contract. I have no idea how they can afford it. I think there has to be some major sponsorship component to it.
Gerry Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 £128million over the 5 years apparantly. Not bad work if you can get it. That's £500,000 a week. Where the hell is that kind of money coming from?
RP Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 I heard he was going to do this months ago. Apparently it has all to do with his "acting career". Nothing to do with the half a million quid a week then?
SkippyjonJones Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 I heard months ago as well. I also heard the figures involved. There must be a hell of a lot of sponsorship going on here ? a major company will be taking over the Galaxy and will max the Beckham exposure to the USA. I?m sure the money he is getting includes image and advertising rights etc. No other way can it work. The attendances and tv money won?t cover it. Yet Clint Dempsey was being paid $86,000 a YEAR and they wouldn?t give him a pay rise. BTW the contracts are held by the League ? not the individual clubs?

I think there has to be some major sponsorship component to it. There will be. Most Shermans think Beckham's the best player in the world, so there'll be a bunch more eejits in the stadia. He'll be on every talk show in America, too. He'll be the Coors Light David Beckham or something, the cn*t.
