I hope so - we need another quality striker, and it would be nice to have a bit of good news after all the recent problems.

Shouldn't Voronin be playing for Grasshopper Zurich or Rapid Vienna or someone like that? How the f*** he got a move to a club like Liverpool is beyond me. Must have a good agent.

I've just come back from a month abroad, but don't worry lads we have lots to be optimistic about: Our new owners are right behind our manager and recognise he is the best young manager in the world, and just need to give him time to build his team and get the youth set-up sorted. Our new owners also have loads of money so no more struggling for transfer funds and having to settle for second rate players, the new guys have said we'll have enough money to buy the best around now, to help us seriously challenge for the league in future. Our new owners have hired the best architects around to build a super stadium we can all be proud of - 76,000 capacity, massive Kop with superb accoustics to funnel the noise onto the pitch - no more sh*tty old bowl shaped rent-a-stadiums for us. What? What did I miss???
-
Carragher did the same against Villa and that was a pen...

So they promised us this great new stadium and now we're going to end up with that sh*tty bowl stadium after all. What a joke, Parry is a clown and needs removed from anything to do with the running of our club as soon as possible. The Americans are becoming a nightmare - hope DIC come to our rescue. We need to stand up to this sh*t before we end up in the wilderness for another 15 years...

I hope this is what happens at the meeting: The Roman Emporers Gillette and Hicks are sitting on their thrones and Rafa the wronged, good man and hero is brought before them in chains, for them to decide whether to throw him to the lions or save him. Parry the snivelling, toadying consort who has set up Rafa to cover his own staggering incompetence, is lurking in the corner. Parry who would do anything to cover his own back even if the consequences of his duplicity would be disastrous for the Empire, is sucking up to the Emporers and looking forward to the moment when his enemy is thrown to the lions. Then just as it looks like Rafa is going to be condemned, Hicks suddenly stands up, turns round to Parry and says "Be gone you snivelling incompetent fool, how dare you cast dishonour on this brave and valiant hero - guards throw Parry to the lions." Rafa is then released from his chains, given £17m for Mascherano and we end up winning the Premiership, Champions League and defeating the Carthaginians. How likely is that to happen do you think? are there many lions in Liverpool?

I was really impressed with Benzema of Lyon in tonight's game against Rangers - Strong as an ox, good control and spacial awareness, that reminded me a little bit of Zidane. Do any of you know much about him? was that a one off performance or does he look a real prospect?

He's made a series of rash challenges this season and although he's got a way with a few, if he keeps doing it it's going to cost us - like it did yesterday.
-
I won't be there tomorrow so please sing Rafa's name loudly and proudly for me too.
-
Teaching them the songs seems to work! I'd start off with the Peter Crouch song rather than all 143 verses of 'A Liverbird upon my Chest' though!

I think that's been the root cause of the whole problem, if they had daily contact like most chairmen then this would have blown over in a day or so. Instead they've been communicating through press conferences and official statements, and once amplified by the press we've ended up with a crisis. What is the point of their sons being over here if they have no say whatsoever? whats the point? We can't wait until you turn up for the big games to get things sorted, either devote yourself properly to the running of the club, and act on the promises you made, or sell up to someone who will run the club properly.
-
They really need to get talking to each other, not via intermediaries or Rick Parry and definitely not through the press as this risks being blown out of all proportion. Rafa knows what's needed to get this club challenging for the title again, and I admire him for standing his ground - there was nothing wrong with what he said in his interview yesterday IMO. For now I'm not going to believe what's written in the press, and give the Americans more credit than to think about sacking the best young manager around - that just isn't the way things have ever been done at Liverpool. PS I have no time for Chris Bascombe at all anymore. Thought he was vindictive over Houllier and to see he now writes for the News of the World says it all.

is there a finer sight in football

Where's the other two? -
I don't really get why they needed to state that publicly. Makes me worry a bit.

What are the odds on Reina letting one through his legs at Newcastle after a glowing tribute like that?

He did it the other day too, but I thought it was more of a 'spanking' gesture.

What's a good result in the Marseille v Porto game?
Paisley replied to Paisley's topic in Liverpool FC
this is the uefa rule so looks like 2 wins , but i dont think porto will be this easy 6.05 If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches, the following criteria are applied to determine the rankings: a) higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the teams in question; b) superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams in question; c) higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches played among the teams in question; d) superior goal difference from all group matches played; e) higher number of goals scored; f) higher number of coefficient points accumulated by the club in question, as well as its association, over the previous five seasons (see paragraph So does that mean if we beat Marseille 1-0 in the last game and end up on the same amount of points we'll go out??? -
Other than them both fielding 12 men and getting thrown out of the competition. Does a certain result in that match ensure we'll qualify IF we win our three remaining games?
-
Watch us f*** it up now by dropping points at Blackburn (it's never too early to get your mockers out).
