In a way I think he did yes. Rafa knows what's needed to get us competing with Man U and Arsenal, and if he isn't getting the support he was promised from the owners then he's not the type of person to just happily accept that. That's one reason why he's successful. I just hope he sticks this period out and we can all start again with new owners (please God).

To be honest I was disappointed by the lack of protest from the crowd tonight. Makes you wonder how much of a c*** up of things they need to make before people become vocal? Undermining the best manager we've had for 20 years, not living up to any of your promises, giving next to no money for players and making the club look a complete joke obviously isn't enough.

Agree completely with that, and was thinking the same thing myself the other day. I think it would give the whole club a boost to get a new No. 2 in.

That's how it should be but the whole club seems to be on a downer at the moment, and personally I think the whole situation is getting to the players and Rafa himself - they're only human after all. Rafa has made mistakes, but does anyone seriously believe that if Rafa had taken the Chelsea job when Mourinho did or was to take over from Fergie next season that he doen't have the capability to win the league title? Some people like to ignore just how hard the job of Liverpool manager is these days. So if Rafa was sacked and Klinsmann or whoever took over in the summer do you think he would do any better when Man U can pay 35m to add Berbatov to their already great squad, while our new manager tries to build a title winning team from scratch with about the same money to spend in total if he's lucky?

Do you have to start a post like this every time we don't win? To me it seems clear now that the problems off the field have been affecting our performances badly lately. Have a go at Rafa if you want but he has won us the European cup, and I'll never forget that. Any attacks on Rafa just take blame away from those it should be going to. Do you think Rafa couldn't win the league if he had a front line of Ronaldo, Tevez and Rooney instead of Kuyt, Voronin and Crouch? We're not competing off the field these days, and now we have Laurel and Hardy in to complement Parry, we're not going to for the forseeable future either "that's another fine mess we've gotten you into..."

I don't think I'll truly like any new home kit until there's a proper Liverbird on it again. And the away one...does that mean we're going to have a return to the dreaded green kit?
