I'm sick of seeing strikers we've bought that haven't been good enough then being plonked on the right wing - Heskey, Diouf and now Kuyt to name but three. What a difference a natural quality winger would make to this team.

Much as I love Rafa, and would hate to see him go, I can't help thinking it wouldn't be a bad time for him to leave. If he stays then he stays with his hands tied by that muppet Parry and the contemptible Yanks in charge, and with a team that he knows isn't good enough to compete with, but he'll still get a lot of the blame as the manager. If he does leave, our form and league position would most likely plummet to the new lows, and if we don't qualify for the Champions league, then eventually we'll force the Yanks out. Then once DIC or whoever take over and start running the club properly for the first time in 20 years - who will the fans want back as manager? I have a feeling things are going to get a lot worse for our club before they get better

Another kick in the gonads for Rafa - really think we should have gone all out to get Barry if he was Rafa's top target. I honestly don't think we'll finish in the top four this season, and Rafa will be gone by the end of the season...but the Americans will still be here bleeding us dry.

If we could have got our money back on Kuyt I think we should have sold him. Starting to wish we'd bought Bentley or someone else for the right hand side.

I think it's typical that Hicks and Gillette have been quiet all summer, and now that the season is about to start they start s***-stirring again. Sell up you clowns.

I can see it's going to start pissing me off if people start suggesting Rafa's time is up if he doesn't win the league this season. What's happening now is beginning to remind me of Man U when Ferguson first took over. They didn't win the league straight away, but over a few years Ferguson gradually improved the team, replacing the dross with top quality players until a couple more great signings (Cantona, Schmeichel) were enough to make them the best team in the country. We're starting to get there and a bit more cash for top class signings would help; and although this season we might not quite be ready, with the players we've got, the young players coming through (Nemeth, Pacheco) and perhaps one or two special signings the future looks very good for us under Rafa...

I hope we manage to keep Alonso as well though - Alonso with a point to prove could be a great player...

Funnily enough I was just thinking about that save this morning (not that I don't think about Istanbul at some point most days anyway!). The trajectory of the ball was just ridiculous and we were destined to win the trophy that night. All the way through the competition though I was sure we were destined to win it - Olympiakos, Juve hitting the post, Gudjonsen's miss, to name three moments off the top of my head - was shocked at half-time that we were three-nil down because I was so sure we were fated to win it, but I never lost hope... Dudek you're a legend.

We've signed Skrtel, Torres, Mascherano, Keane to name 4. We may still get Barry, Genuinely, has this changed how anybody feels about our owners? How on earth would that change anyone's opinion? Torres & Mascherano's fees have been added to our £350m debt, and Keane has virtually been paid for by selling Crouch, Riise, Carson and Guthrie. The Americans promised everyone they wanted to take Liverpool back to the top of world football and would build us a great new stadium etc, etc, but it soon become clear they were purely driven by greed and not even particularly good businesmen. The thing that seems to have annoyed me the most though is how in the summer of 2007 they were saying they understood how great a manager Rafa was and how much they were behind him, and then three months later after a couple of bad Champions league results they were trying to replace him. Clueless, classless, greedy c*nts.

Have to say that does look a better, more balanced team than merely swapping Alonso for Barry.

We should spend the £18m on Ashley Young instead.
