  1. Don't understand why someone like El Zhar hasn't had a look in since some of the early season games. He did quite well in some of those games, looked bright and lively and wasn't scared to try a few things, but he isn't even on the bench tonight. Or give Nemeth or Pacheco a chance in a game like this, someone with a bit of fire and energy. Instead we'll all just groan when Lucas come on.
  2. Thanks but didn't work for me. What a waste of money Setanta is - had been looking forward to this game all day.
  3. The Globe Hotel on the main street in Cockermouth has big screen projectors so is the best place to watch the game in Cockermouth.
  4. Let's be honest £2m is a bargain for a player like Michael Owen.

  6. Things are bad but they ain't that bad!
  7. Are we mis-handling his injury? this is the third time he's been out with a hamstring injury this season, or is it just the tricky nature of these injuries? Feck. Why couldn't this be happening to Ronaldo instead?

    Lucas

    I don't even think he's Brazilian.
  9. We just need to sign Aguero - Sorted.
  10. It was in a game like this with Stevie missing that I thought Keane would prove his worth. Disappointing performance from him today.
  11. Bascombe is a snide little sh*t-stirrer. Do not like that guy at all.

Was just thinking the same myself, you often see Fergie at games watching potential signings in person, but I can't ever remember seeing Rafa in the stands in the same way. At the end of the day he will be judged by the signings he makes, so you'd think he'd want to see potential signings in person rather than relying on scouting reports and video footage. Maybe after the Dossena debacle he will in future.
  13. I love their "We have lower levels of debt than Arsenal" protestations - Yes but they've got a large debt from building their new 60,000 seater stadium, while you've managed to land us in almost as much debt before you've even had a "spade in the ground." F***wits.
  14. Sounds good to me actually.
  15. God they're stupid c**ts these two - come on Karma get a move on we want them out in time for Christmas.
  16. Dossena is God's revenge for all of those on here who used to slag off Riise no matter what he did.
  17. Did we keep the receipt for Dossena? £7m would come in very handy in these cash-strapped times.
  18. I know - so much for Insua definitely starting and Dossena being back in Italy on two weeks leave! Back into the relegation places I go!
  19. Walcott supported Liverpool so that argument doesn't always hold up. If we'd made him feel like we wanted him the most then I'm sure we could have got him - whether the owners would have stumped up the cash is another matter. Arsenal have got a good reputation for their youth set-up but they're also getting a reputation for being perpetual nearly men, and Liverpool have a great manager and you'd feel are more likely to win things.
  20. Still kind of galls me that we couldn't find £5m to spend on such an obvious talent. Our American overlords thought Gareth Barry was too old to borrow spend £18m on so I'm guessing Ramsey was too young to justify the money?
  21. The way Lucas bottled out of that header towards the end made me never want to see him in a Liverpool shirt ever again. What was it Shankly used to say? must be prepared to run through a brick wall if you want to play for Liverpool?
  22. Can't believe some people are having a go at Rafa for his substitutions - Keane's carrying an injury, and so might Gerrard and Alonso be for all we know, and they've all now had a bit of a rest before the Chelsea game this weekend. It would have been nice to have had an international break after tonight's game so we could have really gone for it without other considerations, but if we'd beaten Athletico tonight and lost to Chelsea at the weekend, the same people would have been complaining that Rafa cares more about the Champions league than he does about winning the Premiership. 1-1 away from home against a good team, with 7 points on the board and two home games still to come is a pretty good situation if you ask me.
  23. Pennant's done more in the last two minutes than El Zhar's done since we scored the equaliser.
  24. El Zhar's done more in two minutes than Pennant's done all game.
  25. I worry about our scouting network if Dossena was the best left-back they could find. Looking a well dodgy buy.
