  1. It's not always about winning - feel very proud of our team for coming back from the dead not once but twice, and nearly getting a win without resorting to diving, gamesmanship, pressurising the referee etc like some teams we can all name would. As always proud of our fans too, cheering the team on all the way through and cheering them off at the end. Feel very honoured to be a supporter of this great club.
  2. but a c**t sadly.
  3. I'm not bothered who we sign this summer as long as it isn't Diouf, Diao and Cheyrou.
  4. Don't think it's as simple as if we don't play Gerrard against Blackburn then we are still prioritising the Champions league. One game's at home, and using an in-form Benayoun instead of an injured Gerrard doesn't necessarily weaken the team. You'd always have Gerrard on the bench too if needs be. Easy for people to be wise or critical with hindsight if we don't win, but it seems a fair option before the game.
  5. Just out of interest does anyone know when he's due to retire? Bent as f*** that tosser.
  6. It's true that you can judge a person by his friends - Allardyce and Mr Ferguson are both prize t***ts.
  7. Seems to me that a bit of that 'desperation' to win we had when we first qualified for the Champions League has gone - both from players and fans alike. When we won it in 2005 we couldn't quite believe we had got so far in the Champions league, and this was our best chance for ages, and we might not get another chance again so we had to take it - even if we were 3-0 down to AC Milan in the final! Nowadays qualification for the Champions league has become normality, so if we get a bad draw and have to win 3-0 at Chelsea then there's always next year, and we can concentrate on the league. However if you want to win things then these are the opportunities you have to take, so give it everything and it's not impossible we can score three times at Stamford Bridge, even if that just takes us to extra-time or penalties. Get a result and we're in the semi-final of the Champions league - three games from winning it!

  9. With Gerrard/Kuyt signing new contracts and talk of getting a new contract set up for Torres, is a new contract for Alonso also on the cards? It didn't sit right with me how we treated him last Summer, think he deserved better from us - he had just come back from winning the European Championship with Spain, and had always been a good servant to us so it wasn't nice seeing him hawked around to anyone willing to pay £10 million for him. Lesser players would have sulked and started looking around for a new team, but Alonso has been superb this season and shown his quality and importance to the team. I hope we do get Barry this summer as he's a good player, would improve our squad and can cover a lot of positions for us - defensive midfield, left back, left midfield. However that shouldn't be at the expense of Alonso, and hopefully it needn't be now that we seem to have a bit more cash - can't see any good reason why the two have to be exclusive anyway. So isn't it time we rewarded Alonso with a new contract too?
  10. I can't believe you're all giving Yossi the credit for the victory, when it was me digging out my lucky Bob Paisley badge with ten minutes to go wot won it!
  11. Don't know how they get away with all this, they talk so much s*** I think they end up believing it themselves. Hopefully they won't get away with it much longer.
  12. Hyypia is a Liverpool legend of course, but I was really impressed with Litmanen in the Wales v Finland game today - very classy player, not really sure why it didn't work out for him at Liverpool because you'd think he would have been made for us.
  13. Someone please post the clip of Rafa 'celebrating' the goals today - thought that was hilarious. Good bit of editing to be fair!

  15. That's the spirit.
  16. Nice photo gallery on the BBC sport homepage: Rafa today, Rafa signing Torres, Rafa lifting the FA Cup, Rafa lifting the European Cup. Only two more things left to say - Woo and indeed hoo!!
  17. Absolutely fantastic news. Wish I could believe the complimentary words from our two owners but they've proven not to be true to their word in the past. Now Rafa, please continue with your plan to knock Mr Ferguson off his f***ing perch!
  18. Yep like us.

  20. I think that's an excellent idea - a true gent Bobby Robson, it would probably mean a lot to him.
  21. That bit had me raging at the time - Firstly, If Rafa had done that Andy Gray would have been complaining about Rafa pushing Gerrard back into a defensive midfield position and nullyfying his attacking threat, and using that as an example of Rafa being too cautious. Secondly, if he had done what Gray was suggesting Gerrard wouldn't have been able to make the surging runs that led to the second goal, Vidic's sending off and the third goal. Maybe Rafa knows more about football than you after all eh you f***wit!!
  22. "Steve Gerrard, Gerrard, he kisses the badge on his chest, then gives the mancs six of the best, Steve Gerrard, Gerrard"!!!

    He's the new Ronnie Rosenthal!
  24. Exactly - get Andy Gray in as manager with Keys as his number 2.
  25. Here, here - Well in Rafa! Now get that contract sorted and signed.
