  1. It's very frustrating that after Moores finally sold up in order for us to get the investment we needed to 'compete', that we still have to fund transfers from selling players or through success on the pitch. That is if that money isn't being used to service the debt or to help someone own us as a commodity like 'Weetabix'. I guess that is a different thread, but thank the Lord we have Rafa.
  2. I was sure it was Doug Ellis too. That's all we need.

I think he would be eligible to play in the Champions league this season. Don't worry as long as our chairman is half competent I'm sure they'll be a clause in the contract preventing him from playing against us.................oh s***.

He was pretty much the same as he always is ok but nothing special. That bit in the first half where he jumped under the header then gave away a free-kick was comically bad. He still looks physically weak and gives away far too many sloppy free-kicks. He passed the ball around quite well today, but that's not saying much when most of your passes are going ten metres sideways or ten metres backwards. Thought Insua was good though.

  10. The 'Anti-Booing Charter'?! That sounds like something Chelsea fans would dream up, and we would laugh at their general patheticness. No thanks.
  11. Just out of interest, has he scored more goals for liverpool than against? Just as well he's stopped 17,867 goals with his heroic defending.

    BENITEZ

Neither would I but I think it would be a backward step. Rather give Nemeth a chance.

I doubt it. When you look at our midfield and attack today - Benayoun, Alonso, Mascherano, Gerrard, Riera, Kuyt - Only Gerrard will get you more than the occasional goal. You want to add to that a target man who never scores? You think Heskey is the key to unlocking our attacking talent? We need flair, creativity and people with the happy habit of getting on the score sheet, not someone we can hoof the ball up to. Heskey would just add to the general bluntness of our attack in my humble opinion, while also blocking the route to the first team of people like Nemeth and Pacheco.

I think Rafa's team selection cost us today. With your star striker out I can't believe you would leave your £20m striker on the bench, especially when he played well in the second half of the last game. Also if the game is 2-2 and you're looking for a hero, then why not bring Keane on then? He'd be desperate to get the winner and it might just have kick-started his Liverpool career. Why just give Babel 10 minutes at the end too when others weren't performing well? Given half an hour he might have created something. If we re-sign Heskey in January, then I think my faith in Rafa will finally have eroded. We probably aren't going to win the title this season, but the really annoying thing is going to be that when we look back we'll know we could have done it if it wasn't for these stupid f***ing home draws.

Have to admit that's been winding me up too, along with that flick against Athetico and trying to dink the ball over the keeper against Bolton when he could have just side footed it in. There's two more goals you should have got there if you'd been less flash and more clinical. Less twining and more Liverpool-like performances like you did towards the end of tonight's game please. Oh and stop dropping back to just outside our own area too, not much damage you can do to the opposition when you're that far back so often.
  19. Thought he played well today and showed signs that he may finally be adapting. Maybe the incentive to 'repay' the managers faith in him will give him the confidence he needs to go out onto the pitch and prove he's talented enough to play at the top level and become a valuable member of the first team.
  20. To be honest it wouldn't surprise me if it's true this time - with Man City spending £50m on Villa, trying to spend a ludicrous £125m on Cassilas and Liverpool already in big debt, then taking over Liverpool is now going to be a big drain on their resources if they want to compete at the top. With the Dubai economy feeling the pinch at the moment, and their neighbours Abu Dhabi ready to poor money into Man City, I wouldn't be surprised if they've changed their minds. Very disappointed but not surprised - another fair-weather friend.
  21. Just imagine though...we keep our noses in front at the top of the league for the next month or so, then have a fully fit, fully fresh Torres to fire us to the title... PPPLTBT
  22. Don't worry we'll soon re-sign Heskey to put an end to these frustrating goal-less draws. We don't need invention, creativity or that little touch of genius, let's just hoof the ball up to a target man who doesn't score goals - that'll solve it. Where's the whiskey...
  23. It's true - the players on the pitch were easily good enough to beat West Ham tonight, and yet we hardly created any chances through open play. Haven't got the mentality or self-belief to win the title anymore. It is bizarre. and sh*te.
  24. Worth a go - Hyypia's had a shocker...
  25. That might explain it.
