  2. Was thinking that myself today - he is a clinical finisher.

  4. I know and doesn't it f*** you off to see his sublime finishing return, while our search for a quality goal-scorer continues.

  6. Depends if we get Abramovich as well as Mourinho...
  7. Eto Schmeto ~ what we need is a Ukranian who's scored 6 goals in 30 games!
  8. Agre with that completely, but today would have been a good place to start!

  10. Yep I watched some of his games in Spain last year and thought he was outstanding, so he's been a disappointment this season. Plus 'Speedy Gonzales' hasn't been very speedy at all. He needs to start believing in himself quickly, and put in some commited performances or I doubt he'll make it over here.
  11. I might be in a minority but of the two games I'd rather beat Barca and progress in the CL, with the chance of winning something this season. At the end of the day we were out of the league anyway, much as that hurts, and another CL victory would be very, very nice - especially if it's a last minute goal against the Mancs in the final...
  12. Reina has played well lately, and to be fair that was a horrible ball into the box. If we'd had someone on the post they might have been able to clear it too. Could have been defended better but we paid for not taking our chances. I hope the investement means we can buy top quality players rather than settling for some second string players as we've had to lately [insert name of your own personal pet-hates here] because that difference shows in games like this.
  13. I'd loved to have seen Fowler on the bench for this one.
  14. Surely a plane would be even quicker? No wonder Juve are in so much trouble!
  15. If Rafa thinks he'll give us 'possibilities' then that's good enough for me.
  16. What a pointless friendly - maybe just about acceptable in July as a pre-season friendly, but why in the middle of March? That club is so full of it's own self-importance. What are they celebrating anyway? The most successful club in European football The most successful English team in European football The most succesful team from Manchester in European football Come on Lille...

  18. That's what really p***** me off, we're not stupid.
  19. I have got a bad, bad feeling about all of this. Just when you begin to think Moores and Parry weren't so incompetent after all and had secured a good deal with the DIC; it looks like in the end they will sell the club to whoever coughs up the most cash, whether it's in the best interests of the club or not. I don't think they're money grabbers and am sure they believe they are doing the right thing, I just feel they're incompetent and have been hoodwinked by these two American guys and will live to regret it. What's worse is it looks like they are staying on to carry on making these crap decisions, and have gained us some very powerful enemies in the shape of the DIC. Great work guys.
  20. "Chill out Rick we've still got a couple of hours to do the Maschareno deal, here have a cigar..."
  21. I know there's an element of brinksmanship with transfer dealings, but to have this happen with Simao, then the same thing happen again with Neill in the summer, and then this again today along with the DIC fiasco...it does create the impression that the people who run our club are pretty clueless.
  22. Just once it would be nice if something we were involved in went smoothly!
  23. The more I think about it the more I feel DIC have just grabbed their opportunity to do a runner.
  24. I am gutted about this ~ Gillett seems like a clown compared to the DIC (due diligence in three days????). However I'll reserve final judgement until I know the full facts ~ this part of the echo article makes you wonder how committed DIC were in the end: "DIC took more than a month to complete their due diligence procedure, and even now no formal offer has been made. Reds officials were hoping to vote on the DIC proposals at a board meeting in London last night before the match at West Ham, but the documentation was still not in place. It was this latest hitch which convinced Moores to reconsider."
  25. I've given Reina stick in the past, but recently and especially last night he's looked excellent.
