Yep me too - he gave the job his all, loved the club and still does, and for me things started to get better again for us during his reign. I remember watching the Olympiakos game and thinking 'my God we look like a team again' rather than just the spice boys and a team with fading stars. Glad he's looking healthy too.

I have no inside information at all, but I still think we'll sign Alves. We don't want to be held to ransom and we don't want to end up without deals in place and adequate cover like we did last season. Perhaps we always did intend to buy Pennant anyway, he is more of an out and out winger and as such adds more 'possibilities.' Whether we end up signing Pennant, Alves and Trabelsi or just have deals in place for all and end up taking two I don't know, but I wouldn't be that surprised if we do end up getting Alves - just my hunch.
