He has a high ceiling I reckon, in the right system and a good team he could be revelation. But we all now know for sure that Arne would stifle him, I wish they'd just sigh and sack him, with lots of thanks etc.....
Start him, see how gets on and respond accordingly. and repeat regularly, it's all giving him game time knowledge and experience, there's no superstars in his way. If Diaz hadn't left it would be a tougher call.
I wouldn't bet a Cobs fiver on that.
What really grates is this tie could have been over in the first 10 minutes, Wirtz alone could have finished them off.
Then we slid slowly but surely into the clueless zone with Captain Clueless on the line with not a clue what to do about it.
He's fcking useless and to make it worse not the decent fella we all thought he was.
Gerrard was patently the natural for the job, the best player in the world, a Scouser and a leader of men. Sami was great but had none of the attributes and obviously took it on the chin because he didn't live in a bubble.
Virgil is at that level, if Gerrard had been subsequently stripped he would have gone berserk and rightly so. I reckon Virgil could seek pastures new if he were snubbed like that.
To be fair to him, if he wins the CL, I for one would freely admit that I have watched and played football for 60 years and still know absolutely fck all. I'd be happy to do so, come on Arne lad, make it so.
If we don't he's cooked.
To whom it may concern. You do realise that step overs are a skill set it's not Flash Harry trickery it's high speed skillz and makes it harder for a defender to stick tight? Rio left that left back for dead on Sunday to put that ball on Hugo's nut.
