Very good. It's Monday now, I feel exactly the same. Kerkez did not 'do alright' at all, he's not a teenager learning his trade, he's a grown up footballer at the one of the world's elite clubs and he's not going to make it. This is his second season and we are heading for the winter, same with Wirtz who is totally unsuited physically to this league and Frimpong can't get to Barcelona quickly enough for me. I'm generally optimistic about the future under our new manager and ownership but we need to get this team fixed.

I'm doing something I vowed I'd never do, go into one after a bad result on matchday. But I have to say.. If Wirtz, Frimpong and Kerkez never played for us again I'd be delighted. Enough.......

I disagree, leases can vary enormously in content. A 250 year lease is practically a freehold and I know for a fact of a golf club that was bought from the council on a 250 year peppercorn lease on the condition that they maintained the clubhouse which is listed. The golf course was subsequently closed to all the members (it had no value as a community asset) and the clubhouse is now a hotel. So I don't follow you're immense confidence that Man City are obliged to remain in situ at The Ethiad for 250 years or give it back to Manchester City Council? Perhaps you have some actual evidence, it isn't me making suppositions. I think it's possible the stadium is an asset which can be sold (probably with restrictions) and is an asset that will be in the mix if they go skint.

Not sure how you can possibly know that the lease terms express this as a contingency to be honest? As for the club being sold as a going concern, I'm not at all sure it will be worth anything much in the lower leagues with all their players sold. An asset fire sale would probably bring in the most revenue i.e. players.

Ah the lease was extended to 250 years a while back but the freehold was not sold. I knew they had ownership (nearly) into perpetuity now and a 250 year lease is much the same as freehold purchase bar that there could be annual charges made which probably wouldn't happen with a freehold. But it would be worrh a pretty penny if they could find a buyer.

That works two ways. They would be bankrupted and assets sold including players contracts, ultimately receivers would put the whole team and the stadium up for sale and the creditors would stand in line. It wouldn't be a fire sale either, you won't be picking Haaland up on a free. United could buy The Ethiad, now that wouldn't be funny at all!! I think it was just 'The Millionaires', their academy equivalent was called the School of Science. Pretentious, moi?

What happened to Wimbledon was off the scale cvntishness, disgraceful. What a club though, starting all over and got back. I reckon City could win the National League and go from there as Wimbledon did. Do you know, you just blew my argument to bits. Chelsea and Millwall going under would make this world a better place.
