  1. If he is still there for the game at Anfield we could easily see the bizarre spectacle of the opposition manager getting an ovation from the Kop while simultaneously being booed by his own team's fans. And I haven't seen any of the Chelsea players making any comments about all the banners, chants etc which is a bit odd too.
  2. That's the thing I really love about him; alongside his sumptuous skill and audacity he has that fierce desire to win that he brings with him every time he steps onto the pitch. It's partly what gets him so much flak when he does things like the WC goal-line handball, haranguing refs etc but I'd take all that all day long because of the spirit and fight it shows he has. As Couldbe said, he is a winner, through and through. A bit more of that throughout the squad and we'll be on the right tracks.

  5. Indeed, there are way, way too many award ceremonies across the board these days. That said, Gerrard is sublime and I dearly hope he gets the one award he truly deserves before retiring - a league winner's medal.
  6. They said in the press conference yesterday he'd gone away "to get things sorted" and would be joining up on Monday or Tuesday
  7. I notice the BBC site has gotten inordinately fond of the term "cupsets", keep using it over and over. I already find it intensely irritating!
  8. August! So a bit of a wait dammit
  9. Wow! Can't wait to read this.
  10. Is it just me or have the NexGen games being given less publicity than they received last year? I've missed nearly all of them this time around whereas last year they seemed to be well flagged in advance.
  11. Speaking of Ray Kennedy, have any of you heard any recent updates as to how he is doing these days? I remember a while back when his brother was in contact with the site.
  12. What's happening with Yesil? Is he playing much for the reserves?
  13. Loads of hostility to him from chelsea forum, quite a few saying they'll be booing him on Sunday
  14. That prick Ronnie Whelan already having a snide dig at him while co-commentating on Man City v Real Madrid, saying he wonders what all Chelsea's attacking players will do now and crap like that.
  15. Offtopic but has anyone heard any updates on Ray Kennedy lately?
  16. That's a crying shame. He always came across in his interviews as someone who was very committed to his family, haven't him and the missus been together since he was in his teens? And he said a big part of his reason of joining Cardiff this season was to be able to have more time with his kids. Hope he can get through this rough time and patch things up with the wife.
  17. Cheers!
  18. As we approach that hour to go trawling for LFC match streams, may I ask has anyone else been having any trouble with sopcast lately? For me when I hit on a sopcast/bloodzeed stream, either it won't fully load or else when it does, stream is stuttery and broken. Have tried dumping sopcast off pc and downloading it afresh but still get the same problems. Any suggestions?
  19. I missed that. What was it?
  20. Wasn't it at start of US tour where Rodgers was saying Sterling was still too young to be expected to figure in first team and maybe would benefit from being sent out on loan? He must have really shone in training since to be given his full debut just a few weeks later against City and the kid put in a great performance, the sign of plenty more to come hopefully. Rodgers seems very assured and authoritative in that clip too, 'tis all looking good.
  21. Yes, in fact come to think of it, they pretty much ask the exact same set of questions of every new signing, regardless of where they have come from. Whereas, with a teeny bit of effort and thought the interviews could be a good introduction for the fans to the new player. Very poor, lazy 'journalism' on the part of the club's tv channel.
  22. Also, the bog standard questions LFC.tv always ask at these 'welcome to liverpool' interviews invite exactly those cliched responses
  23. Football punditry must be the cushiest fecking job going, all these ex-pros being paid handsomely to shovel out barrowloads of bulls*** week after week. The Beeb don't hire numbskulls to commentate on economics, or politics, or culture, or history etc so why the feck do us poor footie fans have to endure watching and hearing a horde of dimwit pundits talking less sense than some fatarsed joe bloggs slurping his beer at the end of the bar
