In a brief outbreak of nerdiness I was trying to see who were best free-kick takers in PL this season, Suarez has to be up near the top of that table (my half hour of googling didn't cough up the relevant stats). Credit to Rogers too for giving him the platform to be such a lethal element in the current team (not unlike Rafa did with Torres). It took cojones for him to dump record signing Carroll so soon after he came in and make Luis the spearhead of our attack. My half hour of googling Luis free kicks did turn up an LFC.tv article where Suarez, as well as saying he'd started doing loads of practice cos free-kicks had previously not been a big part of his game, acknowledged the tips and guidance he got from Rodgers.

Anyone know why LFC.tv can't show that goal? Anytime they are doing some goals highlight thingy where it is featured they use audio commentary. Seems strange that seven years after the game they still can't show the actual footage.

Was wondering about this myself. Allen's the last person you could imagine showing attitude problems in training or being out on the ale. He was playing well before his shoulder injury last year and he was looking lively in the pre-season games, getting forward more. Tis a puzzler why he isn't so much as making the bench at the moment. Peace was being on interviewed on RTE radio a couple days ago and was asked why did Shankly retrire. He said probably no-one would ever fully know but he felt part of the reason was that one of Shankly's big ambitions was to win the European Cup and after Liverpool not winning the league in '74 it would be at least another two years before they had a crack at it and he didn't have the heart to wait around assembling another team. Am not quite convinced by that theory but was an interesting take on the issue.
