The extra votes for Sepp are probably what swings them being admitted in the first place. But how is football in San Marino advanced by them being regularly thrashed by the bigger nations? And we'd be royally pissed off if the likes of Gerrard or Sturridge picked up an injury playing against them in a 7-0 stroll. Maybe there should be a 'small nations' competition where the minnows can play each other, and some kind of pre-qualifying thing like they have in the club competitions to weed out the weakest countries before getting into the Euros proper.

There should be a ranking arrangement I think where the crappy nations like San Marino, Faroes, Gibraltar (Gibraltar FFS!!, they might as well give membership to the Isle of Man or Tory Island!) are omitted from the Euros/WC.

Given the smallness of our squad compared to the likes of Chavs & Man City, we've done really well so far this season in coping with key players being out injured or suspended. Further kudos to Rodgers and the players in managing that.

Arghhh, what is it about threads here lately. I log onto Suarez thread and it's all about Aussie soap babes, and Brendan Rodgers thread gives me inanities on fillets of fish!

Are there "casual" fans who don't have a team? Aside from that I am always flummoxed at how ex-pros are hoovered up by Sky/BBC etc etc when they have feck all actual insight to offer. The journalistic level of footie coverage is so shallow for the most part. And there is lots of meat there for investigative journalism.

One of the things that comes across vividly in David Peace's 'Red or Dead' is how much things can change over course of a season in terms of teams hitting bad or great runs. We are not out of title shout albeit more likely it will go to Man C or goddam Chelski. What is exciting tho is the building of a team that with right additions will surely win league in next year or two.
