I don't see Eto'o being able to contribute the work rate and pressing from the front that we got from Luis/Sturridge. If Sturridge is injured and we're reliant on Eto'o it might be ok for soft games at home but I think he'd be shown up badly away or against our rivals.

Impressive today. Sakho's chances don't look great if Lovren and Skrtel are the number one partnership.

From what I've seen of pre season, Can looks ready to step and grab a first team place if given a start. I think it's looking like a midfield three of Henderson, Can and Gerrard more often than not. Should help the captain having those two doing a lot of pressuring in front of him and should leave the defence less exposed.
