Yeh, noticed that, it was funny. It was a telling little cameo, Torres so utterly not in a celebratory mood even tho all his team-mates are going mental. Didn't notice any other clips of him joining in the party atmosphere either.
Gawd yes, he is irritating. Like the way he has his stock phrases that get recycled ad nauseam like "Player X just can't stop scoring" whenever someone strings together a few goals in quick succession. Or when he goes for a rhetorical flourish and ends up with nonsense like "some players have greatness thrust upon them and others are destined for greatness" which he came up with after some Gerrard screamer (the goal v Inter Milan now that I recall). And Gary Gillespie's inane waffling alongside him adds an extra irritant factor to the experience.
Think he pegs him with his right but you can't see it clearly cos the camera angle, and the fella is already going down by the time St John throws his left. I think I recall reading somewhere that St. John was a handy amateur boxer, won Army championship titles or somesuch.
It is soooo infuriating the rubbish level of 'punditry'. It's like the programme producers don't actually know or care anything about football and just blithely hire football celebs rather than folk who might actually have something insightful to say about the game. You wouldn't see the same thing happening on TV coverage of politics or arts or lifestyle programmes, or certainly not to the same extent. Jaysus the amount of ex-pros who get paid a huge wedge for waffling total b****x is gobsmacking (he said wishing he was an ex-pro on such easy money)
Still gobsmacked by verdict. 8 games is like he was caught bang to rights on camera racially abusing Evra. In reality it seems there was very little meaningful corroborating evidence of Suarez's guilt and it also seems Evra has charges to answer over the whole affair. So how the feck the FA saw fit to come crashing down with this draconian sentence beggars belief. What a total bunch of thundering c*nts.
From all the ambiguity involved, if this was in a court of law it would be chucked out as being unproveable but does the FA panel operate on a similar principle of burden of proof as a lawcourt? And what about this claim of Evra's that Suarez used the term "10 times", there doesn't seem to be any evidence supporting that and I am sure they must all have pored over every camera angle with lip-readers alongside them.
Hahahaahah, I wonder will that journo Ginsoak dissed after last CL game have the satisfaction of being present at this press conference (if Ferguson bothers showing up at it of course)? Oh FFS, Basel, don't blow this!
Deffo deserves a song. Was pleased to see him come back to the club because of what he offers on the pitch then really liked the way he came across in the LFC.tv '60 Minute Interview' a week or two back. And he has been totally boss contribution-wise so far. Rave on Craig Bellamy!
Remember that gloating youtube song some Chav fan put up right after they signed Torres, to the tune of 'I Can't Take My Eyes Off of You'? Wonder what lyrics he would feel like putting to it now? Maybe the La could oblige with some fitting words?!
