  1. Is correct.
  2. Totally and utterly incomparable. Smicer kissed the badge and did a few arm shakes by his side ashe walked bakc to the half way line. Sheringham went off like he'd just scored an injury time winner in the World Cup Final with all this fake "I?m so happy I've got a contorted angry face" crap and ran to the fans gesituculating like a drunk chimp. It was a bad effort at Stuart pearces genuine exorcising of demons that we say in 1996. Hope he falls over and breaks a hip the geriatric t***.
  3. I really hated that contrived over the top celebration to scoring his penalty in the shoot-out. Since Pearce did it (for understandable reasons) in Euro '96 and was held up as a national hero, a number of g*******s have done it. Gazza did it in the next shootout in Euro '96 and looked liek a t***. When Sheringham did it, all I could think was what does this say to the rest of your teammates? - 'I don't care about you or the team as at least I have scored MY peno'. Contrived stupid attention seeking crap. Look at Hamann - one fist thump to the fans, then back to the team. Riise - two hands in the air and a look of total relief after the Instanbul miss. Gerrard - turns around and jogs (hobbles) back to the halfway line, knowing that as Captain histronics are not suitable at that point. Sheringham - acts like he's just entered the ring for the Royal Rumble and runs around pumping his fist like a very annoying American Footballer on steriods who's just short of shouting "Show me the money!". Delighted the idiot was on the loosing side.
  4. Hasn't stopped us before.
  5. Reina was at fault for the 3 goals, and disgracfully let in one of the penos so he was in fact at fault for 4 goals. Bring back Mike Hooper.

    Reina

In answer to 00 deatchscar, that picture was actually taken by a ickle Mickey Owen. Thus the reason for the angle (Mickey was standing at the time) and the fact it was in Wales.
  7. Funny, but anytime you see footage of Gerrard on the pitch before or after the game (for example the walkaround at the hotel, istanbul celebrations, etc) Riise is always standing beside him. I actually think that Riise idolises Gerrard and wants to be him. I think Stevie also likes Riise (but just not as much...)
  8. Why couldn't those two have got together? Could you imagine the footballing talent those kids would have with a mixture of Dalglish and Gerrard genes? If they had 11 boys then you could put a bet down now on us winning the lot in 20 years.

    Sissoko

Hmmmm. I thought Sissoko was poor in the first half and was giving the ball away a lot. He came more and more into it and by the end was probably our best midfielder (in that he was the only one who could actually still run) Giving the ball away is something he's done all season though and I think some Liverpool fans are guilty of rose tinted glasses. He has been very good at times, but there are still far too many errors in his game to be considered one of the best midfielders. However, he will be soon, as once he gets rid of the needlessly given away balls, he will be superb. Someone said on the Rooney v Gerrard thread that people are talking about Rooney judging him now on what he might become. I think people are doing the same with Sissoko.

  11. Why are we referring to the Mancs in a song about our unsurpassed trophy laden history?
  12. Was just watching footage of that again (for some reason it is in an airports safety and security video) Horrific day, and to think Heysl was just a few days later. YNWA
  13. Oh for Christs sake.
  14. I assume then that that means he single handly failed to bring us to Euro '96, World Cup '98, Euro '00 and of course this years Worl Cup? Even Ray Houghton disagreed with that rubbish when O'Herlihy said. An excellant defensive display by our centre backs and goalkeeper contributed hugely to that win, as did MacAteers goal. Keane was excellant that day, but to suggest that any player has ever single handedly won any game is dumb journo speak that desereves nothing but contempt from any right-minded football fan. Blind Keane loving Man Utd fan rubbish from you ZZZZ.
  15. It's true I tells ya
  16. I?ve always found that a bit odd. Ferguson was pointed in his comment that his first job was ?to knock them (LFC) off their f***ing perch?. Well he never did that, and neither did Roy Keane. We last one the league in 1990. You lot didn?t win the league until 1993. So, sadly for us, we had knocked ourselves off our own perch well before you lot found your feet. Sure if it was down to you lot up the road then you would have won the league in 1991 and not 3 years after our last one. Arsenal and Leeds have more of a claim to ?knocking us off our perch? then Man Utd ever will. Oh, and by the way, We?re back!

  18. It makes no sense whatsoever for Pepe to get that award. Sure didn't Garth Crooks have Robinson as his 'keeper of the season, and if Crooksy says it, then that's good enough for me.
  19. Yeah. The GREAT Roy Keane When he was leaving the relegated Notts Forest, he shook hands with Kenny Dalglish on a move to Blackburn. He then promptly goes to Man Utd, showing that his word is worthless. Utd have a bad spell some years later and Keane tries to punch Shearer on the pitch (Shearer ducks the punch and laughs in his face) It later emerges that Ferguson had to convince Keane not to walk out on the club and football. - The first sign that Keane is a quitter. Keane is very late for the team bus at USA ?94. When then manager Charlton has a go at him, Keane replies ?well I didn?t ask you to wait!? ? First sign of Keanes total lack of respect for the Irish team. Keane is made Captain of Ireland in 1996. For his first game as Captain in a tournament in the USA, Keane doesn?t bother turning up at the airport and the team have to leave without him. A few days later Keane emerges and says he was tired after a long season. So were a lot of other players, but they called McCarthy and asked to be allowed not to go to the USA and McCarthy is happy to oblige as he wasn?t to blood some youngsters also. He would have done the same with Keane, had Keane been arsed, or if Keane had given a s**** about his country, never mind his first time as Captain. ? Second sign of Keanes total lack of respect for his Irish team mates and country, A few seasons previous Keane damages his cruciete ligament when HE tries to kick Haaland. He somehow blames Haaland for this because Halland makes a comment as Keane is lying on the grass. (I assume Keane thinks that Haaland has x-ray vision and could see he was badly injured there and then!) Some years late he pre-meditates one of the worst ever tackles, given that it was knee high and had been pre-planned for months, if not years before. ? First real sign of psychotic insanity. Keane goes to the World Cup. At a relaxing venue prior to the training camp, the CAPTAIN OF HIS COUNTRY walks out on the team because he is unhappy at the bumpy pitch. It later turns out that when the outfield players were in training, Keane spots the goalkeepers heading back to the hotel and starts roaring at McCarthy and the other coaches that it is a disgrace that they don?t do the full training. When McCarthy points out that the goalkeepers started training 1 hour before everyone else and they were now finished, Keane doesn?t apologise, no, he storms off the pitch and then announces he?s going home. He should never have been allowed back at this point as he was clearly engineering a way out of the world cup, but Irish management plead with him. He comes back and is asked in a team meeting to speak his views on his slating of the Irish set-up in a press piece he was asked not to give (What kind of a Captain gives an interview like this just PRIOR to the World Cup). He storms off telling McCarthy he was a ?s**** player?, is a ?s**** manager? and that he can ?stick it up his bolox?. Matt Holland confirms, personally, to me, that a total weight was lifted off the squad when Keane left. He used to eat alone at a separate table and would not interact with the other players. ? Third sign of his total lack of respect for the Irish team. Keane then does interview with RTE and has his biographer, Eamonn Dunphy (a man so far up Keanes a*** I don?t know where he ends and Keane begins) wearing the Cameroon colours prior to the game in support of Keane. Keane then makes a point of been seen out walking his dog during Irelands first World Cup game. ? A fourth and very clear sign that he cares not a jot for the Irish team. After World Cup Keane does interview saying he could never play for Ireland under McCarthy. g*******, useless, fair-weather, part-time, know-nothing, 50% of Irish fans who completely support Keane (Solely because he is Man Utd Captain) ensure McCarthy is given the boot by booing even before the match. I was actually standing on my seat in the North Terrace roaring at people to support the team and while a good few people were telling me ?well done? and ?fair play? other people were actually throwing things at me. All nicely engineered by Keane with his comments. A useless full international manager (but great youth manager where he should have stayed) is then brought in. He brings back Keane and we are just as bad as we were without him. We fail miserably to qualify and actually drop a pot in the next Euro Cup draw making it almost impossible to qualify. Nothing is said of how Mick McCarthy would have qualified for EVERY SINGLE COMPETITION under the rules jack Charlton enjoyed as he finished 1st or 2nd in every qualifying group throughout his tenure. But no, Keane is right, he?s a bad manager. McCarthy goes on to manage Sunderland, and despite having to sell all his good players, he performs nothing short of a miracle and wins the Championship and promotion. Sadly he is given no money the next season and it all goes wrong in the Premiership. He is sacked and someone else takes over, but nothing changes as the players are all out of their depth in the top league, and no money was given to get in Premiership class players. Keane causes more trouble for his club team this time. Ferguson knows that Keane is a quitter and so he tells him he is taking the Captaincy from him. As expected, Keane walks out on the club. ? Confirmation that he is a quitter. Roy Keane - Legend
  20. I have to say that I loved Owen when he was with us, and would have him back in a heart beat. Ickle mickey in any other shirt then ours just doesn't seem right. That piece by Knox had me agreeing from the very first word to the very last. Very good read. Thanks.
  21. Still waiting myself
  22. It would be nice to actually discuss your gut feeling, but if you are enjoying the attention moreso, then I'm sure we can all wait.
  23. It's not about doubting Elisha. Basically, by the looks of things, Xabi should be ok. Xabi is talking it up (no doubt where Elisha got his info) and I would flly expect Xabi to talk it up as he will be desperate to play in the final, but he doesn't actually know how bad the damage is. While the pain may have gone and the foot just feels a bit sluggish, there could be a ligiment strain that knocks him out for only 7 days, but it would be 2 days too long. The scan will be the final confirmation. Apprecate Elisha giving us the news that it is looking good though.
