  1. I actually find Lawernson to be quite lucky, Anytime he predicts a win for us, we seem to do it. Jeff Stelling is the one that alway predicts we will loose, but on the odd occasion he predicts a win for us, that's when we drop points.
  2. I know the original plan was to play in the new jerey if we made the CL final again, but I havn't heard anything about the last game of the season.

  4. I agree that it is the same everywhere, and as I said in my earlier post when referring to last years CL games, there is no-one to touch us when the fans are on form. I am really looking forward to Saturday because with the 5:15 kickoff I think we will blow the Chelsea fans away and show Old Trafford what singing is about.
  5. I think we are big game fans. Some of the atmospheres at our home league games have been terrible. However, no set of fans in Europe will ever be able to compare with Chelsea, Juve, and Olymp last year. And our half time showing in Istanbul has left the football world in awe. I think however that the home support in the likes of Argentina is frightening Our away support is the best around though. Although all away fans are invairably louder then the home fans as there's more of a seige mentality when at another teams stadium, the constant chanting and support for our own team, as opposed to the "Stand up if you hate (insert name here) rubbish that other teams chant is far superior. When you listen to the Chelsea fans chanting "Chelsea, Chelsea" over and over again, it makes me cringe.
  6. That does annoy me as well. Our players talk about how we know how to play them and beat them and how they fear us. WE'VE BEATEN THEM ONCE IN THE LAST 8 ATTEMPTS. We have a rubbish record against them. 5 losses, 2 draws and 1 win! It's hardly bloody inspiring.

  8. A very personel account. However, I am surprised to see someone say that they wish more people felt like that, as he is saying that the Sun boycot should end, there should be no fight for justice, people other then those directly affected through lost family members should not be involved or grieve and the wrist bands, stickers, banners etc bring him no comfort= The whole day and loss of his brother has understandbly severely affected him and the way this reads he sounds like a guy who needs help, however, I really hope that not many others feel this way, because the more solidarity shown by all Liverpool fans can only benifet the fight for justice which should never be given up on. And the Sun boycot is not pointless and helps in keeping teh fight alive.
  9. But do Chelsea see us as a main rival though? I saw an interview with Ferguson where he was saying how exciting next season would be given that there will be 3 main title contenders for the title, Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal. No mention of us. I also don't think he was trying to be snide or anything as it was a long interview and this was just one small part of it. Maybe kenyon and mourinho don't see us a major threat either and they would rather Wright-Phillips went to us then Man U or Arsenal?
  10. How the hell is Lampard in there? He's been very poor this season. Rooney also went 12 games without scoring (i.e. one third of the season) and was rubbish in those twelve game. You kind of get the feeling that if Lampard, Gerrard, Terry and Rooney all joined Barca in the summer, they would still be voted in the Premiership players of the year anyway.
  11. Of course. What's good for the goose...etc
  12. Point 14 - all fans entering the ground must have a birth cert and record of first home lived in to confirm that Liverpool is the nearest professional club to where they first lived. Anyone else is sent to either Tranmere, Everton, or Bolton depending on ticket availability.
  13. You can drop the odd clanger as long as it's against Brum or Bolton, it's when it happens against Man U or Chelsea that the newspapers will start comparing him to James and Dudek and giving some stupid knickname. Thats when the apparant pressure is on because that's when BBC and SKY start referring to it all the time.
  14. So now players are able to plan a mis*** to go on target?? Sure every shot ever would be on target then! I wonder does fat sam read his own quotes the following day and then slap himself on the forehead shouting 'D'oh!'?

  16. Not another Owen thread......
  17. I have absolutely no doubt that with his natural talent, extreme professionalism, excellant work ethic, and confidence in his own ability, that Owen would have made it had he started out with any other team. This is a guy who joined Real Madrid despite knowing that the manager didn't really want him. He was so confident that he was good enough to prove him wrong that he still went. And he was right, as had the manager any sense at all he would have noticed that any time Owen played, he did well.
  18. He was never really a red in my mind. He is just another away player who I hope has a s**** game. Couldn't give a toss about him either way.
  19. I never understand why football fans insist on thinking that the players feel the same way for the club as we do. Owen was not a Liverpool fan as a youngster so while he no doubt has a love for the club, he will never feel for it what we do. He always said that he wanted to test himself in Europe and when the opportunity came up, he took it. It?s not as if he had only had one or two good seasons and then decided that he wanted out. We saw more loyalty from Owen then most players who profess a love for their clubs. Owen continually signed new contracts on the promise of something great that never really materialised except for 2001. It came as no real surprise to me that when a new manager joined Owen decided that he couldn?t go through yet another re-building process and so decided to exercise that dream he had to play abroad. If it was me and I was with some other club and the chance came up to sign for Liverpool, I would not act any differently. Michael Owen did a hell of a lot more for us then we ever did for him. Don?t fool yourselves that we made Owen the footballer he is. He would have made it anywhere such is his talent. We were very VERY lucky to have Owen playing for us for 6-7 seasons, and we should remember that. People harp on about the England thing, but Owen doesn?t talk any differently about England then Gerrard does. Anyway, if England is Owens main thing then so what. His club can only benefit as he knows that if he doesn?t score for his club, then his England place is in jeopardy. With a new England Manager in place after the World Cup, players of Owens age will be desperate to impress him as they will be worried that the new manager will see youth as the future with Rooney, Defoe, etc as the future. People really need to get over this ?Owen shafted? us rubbish. He didn?t. He just looked after himself after been a great servant to the club for 7 years in the same way as any other person in day to day life looks after themselves in their jobs. I didn?t begrudge him his move at all and was happy to get £8m for a player that cost us nothing and gave us so much.
  20. If Gonzalez turns out good I might invent the nickname 'Speedy' and call him that.
  21. He's far and away the best player I've never seen.
  22. On a side issue, are we sure about Riise? I didn't think he was back in full training yet?

  24. Well who'd have thought it? A Billionaire, who, it amazingly turns out, is a tough businessman. I am appalled and saddened, especially when you take into account how all other billionaire businessmen are warm and cuddly characters who spend their evenings giving free soup to the downtrodden and training guide dogs.
