Not me by the way. There's another one who advocates a space between the 'y' and the 'H', which I feel is a disgrace and spacist. I have about as mush insider knowledge as fat northener in a merc.

Your Top 3 Favourite Non-LFC Goals...
JohnnyH replied to Leo No.8 's topic in General Football Discussion
Funny how that has remained in folklore. As it transpired Man Utd were already relegated and the goal meant nothing. My 3 would be Maradona v England Sinclair for QPR overhead kick, can't remember against who DiCanio volley for West Ham -
The whole 'injury prone' thing is rubbish. Owen played 297 games in 7 seasons. That's an average of a little over 42 games a season. Not bad for an injury prone player!

I couldn't give a toss as he was in an England jersey. When he dived (and he did dive) I immediately started coming up in my own mind the reasons why he had to. My favourite was that he was avoiding injury from the two footed lunge and I've decided to stick with that. So while I basically agree with Anny that every fan is a hypocrite as if Fat frank had done it I would have been slating him, and I totally despise Robben for his dive from Reina, I also dont' agree though with Annys comments above as I think it's two totally different perceptions. When I'm watching a match as a neutral and I see a player take a blatant dive, I really hope someone t***s him one. I'ts the same as when a player holds up the imaginary yellow card to the get the player booked. I hate that kind of cowardly s****. However the actions of Souness, and Walsh, etc that Anny refers to just seem to the actions of men back then. I don't think anyone would excuse it now, but, for reasons I can't understand, the actions of Souness for example just seem fine in my head. I hate a two footed over the top challenge because of the damage it might do, but I hate much much more a dive or waving the yellow card, despite the fact it causes no injury. Don't really have an issue with Gerrards though as I feel he saw the lunge, thought he was going to get hit and decided to ride the tackle and make sure he got the penalty. More fool the defender for tackling like that in his own area.

You mised it, it was great if I do say so myself.

I really hope there isn't another summer of speculation. I really couldn't take that.

A move to a warm climate like Milan? Respect your opinion, but during any of these games I will just be s***ting myself that someone goes over the top on Xabi or Stevie and breaks his leg or does his cruciate, putting him out for 6 months to a year.

I'm sorry but if I'm honest I'd rather he has a slight pull that keeps him out of the World Cup and he comes back nice and fresh for us in July.
-
Yeah, no arguement here. They could run a black line through the top of the Offal site with "in memory of the 39" or something like that each year.

I have to say that I really hate this attitude. So if we are to loose a match and someone comes on and says "but what about the little sick chidlren?" then we should stop complaining immediately because "we don't know how lucky we are!". Totaly bloody rubbish. You own this site, yet you have put forward a suggestion that no one ever complain about something as there are real problems in the world....... Totally defeats the purpose of a website.

Don't agree. More fuel to the fire of how we are a 'one man team' for the press.

I think it is an utter disgrace to single out one player from that match. I would think that Rafa would be disgusted also given how often he says he doesn't like to talk about individual players. I'll be f***ing furious if the dvd is confirmed as that title.

In the toilet in McDonalds just down from Taksim Square with a wicked dose of the trotts (and only one cubilce). Tried to get a chemist to get some pills (or a plug) but in the end a nice local at taksem quare sold me 8 cans of Effes and I drank them. Seemed to do the trick....

Granted Sissoko covers a lot of ground, but that's a bit much!

That's laughably wrong Don't confuse individual brilliance such as Gerrards 35 yarder against West Ham, with been a great leader and leading by example such as Carra from the second half onwards at Istanbul when he led his defence with courage and commitment and never stopped talking to them. This was what Keane did also for 10 years at Man Utd.

Hate the home strip if that is it. Far too much white. Why can't it just be plain red with a round collarless neck?

Reality check please. Why do some people think that if it came to footballing reasons he would rather sign for us then Chelsea? There is no doubt that we are making great strides towards a sustained challenge on the title, but to a foreign player of that calibre Chelsea will be more of a draw. They have won the title the last 2 seasons. We have the FA Cup to show this year. Yes, we were European Champions, but what do you think Shevchenko thinks of that final? He thinks that apart of 6 minutes, his team were all over us. He thinks that if it wasn't for a number of spectacular goal line clearances, glaring misses, and probably the worst miss (or best save depending on his frame of mind) that he has ever seen, then he would have comfortably won the European Cup. We all need to take our rose tinted glasses off when looking at transfers. Chelsea, because of their wealth, and the fact they have an excellant (if unbelievable annoying, low class, and petty) manager and the fact they are already hugely succesfull with their last 2 league titles a European Cup Semi-final last year and been knocked out by the eventual winners this year (wonder what Schevcenko thinks of us been knoced out by Benfice!) will make the top players more inclined to go to Chelsea as they will see it as a better chance of success. Our last two league campaigns finished 5th and 3rd. Hardly spectacular in European terms. Yes, we were European Champions, but so were Porto, and I would hazard a guess that Schevchenko doesn't want to go there. I don't want to step on peoples beliefs and hopes, but some of the rubbish here is delusional.

I'll be at the game also. Quite looking forward to seeing how he plays. Hope the weather is better then it is at the moment though.

I don't have anything to add, I just feel this thread has a chance of been remembered through the decades as the most misguided and delusional thread ever, so I want to be a part of it.

The ladies tell me that I have 3 legs.........oh yes.

I thought we had won the 50th European Cup?
