Possibly in the very narrow circumstances of a club having the vision to employ a professional like Steve Peters. Even now it's very rare in football and it seems to be expected that a combination of banter in the dressing room, mates rallying round and people saying 'something must be done' is going to be enough.

It's to do with dehydration and the body's attempts to combat that by retaining fluid in the skin and other tissues.
