When did we re-sign Babbel then? Vintage him tonight against Everton - and he looks good for his age...

Johnson may have to wait for his chance if the lad keeps playing like that - immaculate in every department.

Except his finishing ;-)

If he'd have slotted that one in the first half he flashed past the post, it would have really reminded me of Babbel's classic derby goal at Goodison.

It must be remembered that Everton played in such a way that their play gravitated to our right with Baines and Pieenaar. Given that and no Kuyt ahead of him, he put in a hell of a performance to offer the outlet that he did without leaving us exposed at RB

Im glad he played so well, but he's been pretty average in the last couple of games

Understandable that he needs to get back into match fitness and form, but if he keeps that level of performance up then you could be right

Think he earned himself another start to stake a claim with that performance. Top notch.

Wouldn't be surprised if Enrique is the one to make way at first.

Eh, can you explain that one to me lad?

Sometimes I wonder what game people actually see.

Harsh given that they played as well as each other.

Enrique had a few dodgy moments last night that could have cost us. And has looked well dodgy prior to this game.

I think Johnson is first choice among the fullbacks in Kenny's mind, so it will be a question of who makes way.

If GJ is first choice then it will be Kelly that makes way. Enrique is fine, its his first season with us and he was always going to have ups and downs. He won't or at least shouldn't get dropped.

Just an aside but sky were making out what a good game Pineaar had. If deserting your position and giving the opposition two goals then I've been judging performances all wrong. The first goal Kelly had a free run and the second goal Pineaar gave the ball away. Great performance. (plus he could have easily been sent off for that lunge at Hendo)

From memory, the only foot wrong Enrique did all evening was to slip over in the first half, apart from that, he was back to his normal, strong self.

As Chili said, if anyone will be dropped for Glojo to come back in, will be Kelly.

maybe Big Stuff was right after all, Glo Jo was the reason our strikers missed so much

The three games before have been a nightmare for the 'One of Skrterl or Johnson' win percentage though

Enrique does worry me as he gets the wrong side quite often but he's quick enough and strong enough to recover. Johnson and Enrique are first choice, Kelly is excellent backup.

Gee he looks good

Wonder if there's any chance of him at right back and Johnson at right mid, could be a masterstroke or total disaster

Cant literally be zero worse than playing Henderson there.

Kelly is boss, always said it and so is Enrique, strongest full back around.

I'd like to see it.

Johnson-Spearing-Gerrard-Downing

Suarez-Carroll

Old school 4-4-2 with wide men, central midfielders, creative nippy forward and big no 9. It makes sense in a lot more ways than I thought it would.

f***ing hell man, we get it!

I'm not sure you do, would you like me to explain it in a little more detail?

It was never that was it, bright spark. And there have been other changes to the defence during that period. With Carra back in the side, Kelly makes even more sense because he's more solid defensively.
