Congratulations.

Now give us an account of the events surrounding the managerial change. In your best corporate speak, if that makes you feel more comfortable.

Hmmm.. well done on getting rid of Hicks and Gillette... a plague on you for appointing Hodgson.

If Hodgson hasn't gone by the time the title is officially bestowed on him, I reckon Lizzie should lop off Broughton's head.

Always said The Queen was a red! She saw so much of us at Anfield Road South, she's bound to be ;)

I've thought he's a bit of a bell to be honest ever since he said that thing about 'the media justified sacking Benitez and hiring Roy' rubbish

i'd have more respect for him if he told Betty to shove it up her hole

Aye, he'll be lining up with Willie Walsh again to crush the unions with more time on his hands.

Lizzie is obvious a Red and the Knighthood is for getting shut of G&H. She was fist-pumping along with the rest of us.

Sorry, I disagree with the criticism. He played an absolute blinder in the negotiations to get rid of H&G. There's no need for this revisionist history now we are three months past the brink of disaster.

Roy was Purslow's doing and we'll get over that debacle of an appointment. What Broughton accomplished SAVED the club. Make no mistake about it, we were in a death spiral with those two c*nts in charge and it could have buried us.

He deserves his award.

(Mind you, I agree with Wayne. Personally I'd tell them to ram it up their *rse if they offered me one.)

Indeed. I don't know why any Red would show disdain for Broughton after what he did for the club. The man's a hero in my eyes. Hearing that the old yanks were finally f***ed off thanks to the actions of Broughton was one of the happiest days I can recall as a Liverpool fan.

I doubt he's getting it based on what he done in his role here

He should do!!

I don't think he gave a f*** who the manager was or wasn't, I actually felt sorry for him when he was wheeled out at Hodgsons first press conference. Purslow played a blinder with that one. He was brought in to sell the club and get rid of the two w*****s. A 100% success rate.

The fact that he appears to have screwed them as well means I will always be in his gratitude.

we have king kenny whose achievements on the pitch are unparalleled and his post hillsborough work which in itself deserves greater recognition not being considered. In the past Bob Paisley or Bill Shankly were ignored as well so the institution of knighthood is a bit meh for me

As an aside. My father in law (now deceased) turned down a knighthood.

He was a distinguished chief medical officer and was on the board of Guys Hospital. His knighthood was for services to the NHS, but he declined stating that he was merely doing his job.,

His wife was distraught, but he was a staunch socialist and fundamentally disagreed with the honours system. My wife, his daughter, still has a copy of his letter to The Queen's representative turning down the offer.
