Bromage Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Kenny Dalglish should be appointed LFC Manager with immediate effect. Please vote here
Earl Hafler Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Are we allowed to discuss this in this thread ? I think it warrants closer scrutiny away from the Hodgson insults etc. Personally i'm all for it. The huge confidence boost it would give both fanbase and players would lift the club out of the doldrums. He shouldn't need weeks to evaluate the squad as he's already part of the club. I think he'd utilise the squad far, far better than him. Obviously The only problem is if a manager has been already lined up for the summer and Kenny is a success.

Give Kenny the job, and then reassess everything in the summer. if Kenny replaces Hodgson, and he does a good job the rest of the season and feels up to it, then IMO he should be afforded the opportunity to continue
Cam Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 I'd take many Kenny's over Hodgson. Kenny Huang, Kenny Loggins, Kenny Ball, Kenny Baker, Kenny Everett, Kenny Rogers, Kenny G. Any of 'em.
Marvin Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Appointing Kenny would make Purslow's position untenable. He'd have to go. Thats just a sacrifice we'd have to bear I suppose.

I think it is in the interests of NESV to engage more closely with Kenny on the current status of their plans. He is smart & committed enough to realise the need to rebuild a management structure, a la Boot Room and therefore I suspect he will understand the significance of his role in firstly taking over from Hodgson and then working towards the appointment of a younger team with the talent to take us forward.

The main candidates may not be available until the summer and someone like Rijkaard would be an improvement on Hodgson but ultimately not capable of winning trophies. The previous regime really did f*** us backwards

I agree. The Boot Room days of the past are well and truly gone but i think Kenny could work alongside Commoli and develop a new era, even if it were not Kenny as manager. Houllier and Rafa understood ' The Liverpool Way ' but the club has been slow to react since the 90's, despite investing in the academy, and the management and infrastructure hasn't been what it should for the most successful club in the country. Moores was far from progressive. G&H were...well, we know. The potential is still there, even amidst the clusterf*** created by the previous owners and the current manager, but NESV have to start making crucial decisions before it's too late - the summer would be too late.

Kahnee Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Is this poll in any way connected to today's Twitter observation that KD has suddenly gone all quiet?
DazzlaJ Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 KD has suddenly gone all quiet? Lang? Thank f*** for that.
Hodgson for Chelsea Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Something needs to channge pronto If NESV wai until the summer they'll have an uprising on their hands
magneto Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Forgive my complete stupidity but Purslow no longer exists in the world of LFC...yes?
Hodgson for Chelsea Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Love the way comments are disabled on almost every report everywhere when rafa was here it was open season all the time they know the comments they'll get...
Flight Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Purslow is gone. He's in an "advisory" role - purely a face saving thing, that. Only Henry and Werner know how true that is. He's still listed as a director on the offal. And I don't want that scumbag having the ear of our owners in any way. f*** off Purslow.
Rimbeux Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Love the way comments are disabled on almost every report everywhere when rafa was here it was open season all the time they know the comments they'll get... ? I've just read pages of them on the Indy, Telegraph and Guardian sites, or have I missed something?

Ed the Wool Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Sure I read on one of the forums he's still doing a lot of advising.
Bootle Buck Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Give him the chance to prove himself as a long term replacement. It's not fair to stick him in as a temporary solution. If he wants the job he should be given it on a full time basis with a regular contract. IMO he is the only man that will garner the support of players and fans needed to turn this shambles around. He is a Legend and can become one as our manager too.
Hodgson for Chelsea Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 ? I've just read pages of them on the Indy, Telegraph and Guardian sites, or have I missed something? just me then looked on offal and guardian before posting, but obv not the right ones for comment!
Tosh Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Y'see, I am not convinced that..."The huge confidence boost it would give both fanbase and players would lift the club out of the doldrums" is true. I have read it on here a lot: "Kenny is a legend and the players would get a boost" and the like. Kenny last won the league with us when many of our players were barely out of nappies. Yes he's a legend to us and that would give US a huge boost. But I wonder whether the same would be true of the players. It's all supposition but I have read it on here so much that many clearly believe it to be 100% true. I hope so. Although after Woy, my cat would be a boost (and I don't have a cat) If NESV have an idea of a long term man, I'd rather we said to Rafa "dig us out of this til the end of the season" than say that to Kenny. Both have an element of romance about them, both would likely give it their all, but Kenny would have more to lose if it went t*** up. Rafa is revered by half the fans and no-one else. Kenny is respected everywhere and loved by ALL fans
muleskinner Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 (edited) Non exec, as a favour and a bit of wedge. Be gone soon enough. Purslow not kenny. Edited December 30, 2010 by muleskinner
