Mr. Biscan Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Honestly, I love him. I mean seriously, this man is the greatest keeper this club has ever had. He is such a class act, that save he made when it was offisde, I don't give a s*** that was the save of the season, he was brlliant throughout and he is in my opinion, and yes above Torres the best signing Rafa has made at Liverpool. Proper massive, f***ing legend.
Swipe Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Awesome. Even the way he plucked the ball out of the air when Amechibe went through was ace. Too young to see Clemence, but Pepe is miles ahead of every other keeper we've had in my lifetime.
growler Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 I honestly believe he is ahead of Casillas and Buffon, and in a couple of seasons will be better than Schmiecel.
Barnesy_10 Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Love him.Loved him getting stuck in when it all kicked off. Every player stood up for each other. We need to keep Reina at the club forever
Chili Palmer Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 I think he or Torres will be our next captain. Both are special.
CarraLegend Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 They need to hurry up and sort this contract out. In the summer he'll have 2 years left and thats dodgy territory then. Theres no goalie even close to him at the moment.
Conrad Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 awesome - better than Clemence in my view and I loved clem typical moment today was when he was so quick off his line he basically avoided having to make a 'save' at all Genius

Theres no goalie even close to him at the moment. I'm terrified of losing him. He's starting to get recognised as one of the best but a lot of neutrals still put absolute duds above him like Given or Friedel.
domlfc Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Does this mean Rafa can stay now Mr.Biscan? Joking aside, Pepe is f***ing awesome, as said earlier in the thread I loved it when it all kicked off and he ran up to get involved, was really good to see Agger and Masch get stuck in too!

David Hodgson Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Moyes would have bought a better keeper. Is the lad not allowed to say something positive without someone getting a snide dig in ? Did you agree with his post or not ? Stick to that.
torn Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Is the best, most consistent and most important player at our club. There, I said it.
libero Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Is the best, most consistent and most important player at our club. There, I said it.Not a lot wrong there.
Red Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 (edited) His shot stopping is quite obviously superb but I think it's his distribution that's his great strength. To be a great goalie these days it isn't enough just to roll the ball to the nearest defender or smack the ball upfield in the hope it will end up at the feet of one of your players. Reina is a true pioneer of beginning an attack from the back and I'm sure he's spawned a generation of imitators and that in itself is a testament to how good he is. Edited February 7, 2010 by Red
Mike Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 (edited) Not a lot wrong there. apart from the best and most important bit. 'we built our team around the goal keeper' he's the best around, i've got no doubt. Edited February 7, 2010 by Mike
Earl Hafler Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 awesome - better than Clemence in my view and I loved clem typical moment today was when he was so quick off his line he basically avoided having to make a 'save' at all Genius His concentration is phenomenal. That save from Yakubu - which came from nowhere - was top drawer. I hope we win a title in the next couple of seasons because to have Reina, Gerrard and Torres at the club and not win it - well it's rare to have three such players at the club at the same time. Would be a massive waste.

I'm not sure he's a pioneer of that. Brucie was very good at spotting the opportunity to throw the ball out to a player and start an attack. Reina is the stand out exponent of it in his generation of keepers. Edited February 7, 2010 by Tony Le Mesmer
doug_mac Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 hes the best in the game at the moment and i reckon he is the only choice for player of the year at lfc he has stepped up this season to become a real leader and what i love about him is he's a liverpool man to the bone, he has a genuine love for the club
PhilM Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 And in fairness to Figaro, he told us that we were going to love him when we bought him.
