New coaches. Sack Pelleginro, Lee and whoever else coaches the outfield players and bring in fresh ideas and tactical variances.

Sacking Rafa at this stage is practically and financially impossible. He's brought in his own men from First team down to Academy. But from a first team perspective the solution is to sack Pellegrino and Lee and to bring in new, well-proven individuals who could assist him.

Our corners? Our defense? Our midfield play? Our passing? All gone to the dogs.

New coaches are what we need for 2010/2011.

Who says Rafa will accept the way the new coaches like to play? I think it's Rafa's system we're playing.

In fairness, and not excusing our own ineptness, we played a bunch of championship strugglers who didn't play like a bunch of championship strugglers. I reckon Reading would have given anyone a run for their money last night. Having said that I think they smelt blood

There are no excuses for losing at home to a team frrom a division below in the manner that we did last night, none whatsoever.

3 or 4 goals wouldn't have flattered Reading given the chances they had.

I think the club has to seriously consider a contingency to line up King Kenny as caretaker manager when necessary.

The game is a reflection of Rafa's negative and cautious tactics, where he's content to sit back a 1-0 lead, but this time around when he doesnt have the better player to protect the lead.

Our game plan have to be changed. We have the players but they must have the freedom to go forward, have a go at the oppositon, do not scared to commit themselves in the box and do not scared to caught counter-attack.

I would say we did this in the first part of the second half and did quite well. Problem seems to be when we miss chances to get the second the belief seems to go.

last season, when we were chasing it seemed to inspire the team to greater player, this season we are chasing the players are scared. Its essentially the same players, so the problem is mental.

I know there is an element that Rafa needs to be sorting this out, but FFS, these players are the ones who presumably thought themselves good enough to win the league last year? And now they don't have the confidence to attack and beat Reading?

We talk a lot about captains in our team, but there is way too much buck being passed to Gerrard and Torres by others in the team.

Based on their performance the other night, stick the youth team on the pitch. It's the least they deserve and they couldn't do any worse.

If this carries on Harry Redknapp will be our manager before the season is out.

why are you so determined not to lay any blame for this at RAfas door. do you think the coaches simply turn up and do their own thing?

He's not doing that. Why are you so determined to bring this sh*t up all the time? He's suggesting new coaches. Thats it.

bringing up what s*** all th etime. its a f***ing stupid thing to say. lets blame the coaches, when no one on here has a f***ing clue what goes on in training.

so what goes on in training? do we know. perhaps Pelligrino and Lee want to do things differently and Rafa wont?

and the bottom line, these coaches, like the players, were briought in by Rafa, they were not there when he arrived.

There you go, you've discussed it instead of sticking the boot in.

So then we can't talk about team selection either?

I personally have a hunch that Rafa needs a stronger assistant who is different from him. Always works well for Ferguson. Someone who punches people in showers would be nice

This is a really strange post.

How can one say to sack all the coaches because they must be s*** and say bring in new coaches appointed by the same person who brought in the s*** ones ?

Or is the point being made that Purslow and Stadler and Waldorf should appoint the new coaches ? In which case the post is even stranger.

I would say that although they aren't necessarily bad coaches (i wouldn't have aclue if they are or not), if you have a purely tactical manager it would help to have an assistant who is stronger on the motivational side (like Ferguson has but in reverse). I am personally more concerned about the make-up and balance of our coaching staff, rather than the talent. But its just a hunch like

i dont think it would be that bad a move to get Thommo back personally.

Possibly true but I think the OP was on about the coaching system. I think the Liverpool fans were quite patient and trusting when Rafa did a pretty ruthless overhaul of the coaching system over the past 5 years (Personally, I didn't like what he did to Heighway, but I trusted Rafa). It doesn't seem to be bearing fruit. Should we trust him to do it again ? Should we give it more time to bear fruit ? I don't know, but it certainly looks worryingly like it won't bear fruit.
