RIISE DENIES LIVERPOOL LINK

Norwegian defender John Arne Riise has denied he wants to leave Roma and return to Liverpool.

The former Reds left-back moved to Italy in June 2008 after a seven-year spell on Merseyside, and was reported as saying he would like to come back to the club.

However, the Norway international has refuted the claim and said he is more than happy with the Giallorossi.

"I never said I want to return to Liverpool nor in England and I have never issued those statements," he said.

"I'm happy here and I want to stay at Roma."

The Italian outfit have made a poor start to the Serie A campaign and have only managed 14 points from 11 games so far.

Riise will be playing against his brother Bjorn Helge when Fulham travel to the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday in the Europa League.

I'd swap him for Dossena. I dont want him back mind but given we seemingly arent allowed any money to spend a minor improvement in a swap would be alright.

agree, i would too.

At least the useless git would probably be fit. Which, let's face it, is not to be sniffed at at present.

I was saying to a friend the other day (in regards to Aquilani's injury record) that it was more than likely something to do with Roma's training, because even Riise picked up injuries when he first went there. Say what you like about him but Riise was pretty much always fit for selection.

get Hamann back if we are going to start bring in ex players.

There was half a discussion about that on here the other day. I probably wouldn't need much convincing at the moment to be honest. Stick him on the bench, bring him on for the last 30 mins or so of a game and see out the points.
