anfield11 Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Not even on the bench for R. Madrid today [injured?]. Rarely gets a game. Recently scored a crucial goal for Argentina. A class player that would be great for us. Surely worthy of approaching Madrid, even if a loan deal? http://soccernet.espn.go.com/players/stats...310&cc=5901
Rory Fitzgerald Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 I was thinking the Grim Reaper arriving in the boardroom.
Sion Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Agree completely, think he'd be great for us. Granero is playing for Real, what's that all about? he's terrible.
anfield11 Posted October 24, 2009 Author Posted October 24, 2009 He's French? Born in France of an Argentine [footballer] father. He's played for Argentina.

Maldini Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 He's a superb player, another one we scouted but couldn't afford. 0% chance of us signing him though unfortunately.

A loan has to be a chance? I'm surprised we haven't used loan deals to beef the squad up and used our cash for first XI acquisitions. That said, I think Higuain would be a first choice myself.
Ethan Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 I was thinking the Grim Reaper arriving in the boardroom. haha yes
johngibo YPC Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 i was thinking of kevin nolan today as he scored his eigth goal of the season from midfield
Ste M Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 i was thinking of kevin nolan today as he scored his eigth goal of the season from midfield In the Championship.

Nolan, Bent, Davies, Melchiot and the like - enough to strike fear into the heart of any team. Edited October 24, 2009 by Pipnasty
Jarg Armani Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Blackburn Rovers Theoretically?Dunn, (deep breath) Diouf. Playing this game gets me into trouble on the internet.
mick Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Kevin Nolan I think Higuain would be a very good sigining if we could get him for less than 10 mill. Hard to believe he is only 21 Saw him play for Real last year against Malaga and he scored 4 - seems to do most things well without being spectacular anytime I have seen him. Which isn#t all that often to be honest!!
Maldini Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 He wouldn't go for less than £30m. City were sniffing around him in the summer.
muleskinner Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Nolan, Bent, Davies, Melchiot and the like - enough to strike fear into the heart of any team. Kevin Phillips must be available somewhere.
muleskinner Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 He wouldn't go for less than £30m. City were sniffing around him in the summer. £30 million? f*** off.
Davvo Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 £30 million? f*** off. I think that's what Tom and George said. I've seen Nolan in action this season at Blackpool. He was s****. Charlie Adam on the other hand, is twice the footballer Lucas is. Still not good enough for a team with title pretentions, but right now, at this moment, he'd improve our team.
Maldini Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 £30 million? f*** off. That's the going rate, he got 22 in 31 last season. He's a top top player IMO, if Real are prepared to let him go (which I doubt) then richer clubs than us will be sniffing about
Chili Palmer Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 I think that's what Tom and George said. I've seen Nolan in action this season at Blackpool. He was s****. Charlie Adam on the other hand, is twice the footballer Lucas is. Still not good enough for a team with title pretentions, but right now, at this moment, he'd improve our team. Charlie Adam inprove our team? never, not in any way shape or form. He probably wouldn't even improve our reserves.
Stevie H Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Theoretically?Dunn, (deep breath) Diouf. Playing this game gets me into trouble on the internet.chris samba. dominates in the air.
Davvo Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Charlie Adam inprove our team? never, not in any way shape or form. He probably wouldn't even improve our reserves. I'm not suggesting for one second we should ever consider buying him. I'll tell you this much though, he is absolutely twice the player Lucas is, and seeing as Lucas is playing so much right now, then he would definitely improve us at this moment. Hopefully, the point will be moot soon enough. Without Alonso we don't have a centre midfielder with real vision, Aquilani can't get match fit soon enough for me. There are dozens of pro's in the premier league and championship who would make us better right now, just by breaking up the dour masch/lucas pairing.
Knox_Harrington Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 (edited) Nolan, Bent, Davies, Melchiot and the like - enough to strike fear into the heart of any team.Bar Melchiot, they'd do a job. Theoretically?Dunn, (deep breath) Diouf. Playing this game gets me into trouble on the internet.I'd definitely have Dunn. Edited October 25, 2009 by Knox_Harrington
