They would be a new team in a circus of a league. The standard of football is really poor and it will take a long time for the standard to get as good as say Division 3 (or whatever it is called these days) is in england.

Most of our top players obviously get plucked by European teams.

The good players get snapped up by the Asian/Middle Eastern teams.

Our league get left with old farts, average players and foreigners who can't make the big time in their own country. We've had Brazillians over here worse than Lucas. ;)

had to be, looked like one of us!

the game will take time to develop and I think getting the world cup in 2018 or 2022 will help accelerate it. I was a bit surprised that none of the PL teams have been here, with some much interest in the game, especially when coming to the far east anyway.

Celtic, Fulham and Wolves came in July/August.

I was with Lloyd Owusu from Adelaide Utd yesterday, he played for Brighton last season, and says the A-League is same level as League 1. I thinks its worse, but you have to trust a player's view I guess.

I've never seen a League 1 game but the idea that the A-League is of a similar standard to it seems to be a pretty widely circulated one.

I have to say though, I've seen a fair few Championship games and there's teams in that who'd win the A League without dropping a game.

A friend, Evertonian no less, said so himself regarding your second sentence.

I thought that

With it being in Sydney i reckon a fair few scousers went

I was at the game and there were more Scousers there than North Queensland fans. One of the problems with the A League is the country is so big, that there is hardly ever more than a handful of away support at the games.

They wanted to play YNWA before kick off but Sydney wouldn't allow it. They did have a Beatles tribute band playing outside though.

It was a crap game. Aloisi missed a pen in the first half and Robbie wasn't really in the game. It was a brilliant finish and probably should have had a second soon after.

All his goals are here Fowler - A league goals

That second goal is vintage.
