Wisdom got some very unfair criticism after the Youth Cup Final. People need to realise his age.

I want Amoo in the first team squad.

On what basis? He's nowhere near ready

He's physically big enough and he's been one of the best, if not the best, youngsters/reserves this season

Why isn't he ready

Exactly. I never understand this desire to rush players along. Exceptional talents will shine through at a young age, but others need to be developed at a slower pace. Ammo is not an exceptional talent

Amoo may or may not make it with us, but he needs at least a season of playing regular reserve team football before he's even ready for Championship level football.

Amoo looked good in the YCF & Ince looked decent too. the crntrebacks were f***ing gash though - Ayala & Kennedy

I've seen Ince in less than 10 games, so perhaps it's not a fair assessment, but I'd be surprised if he made it at the highest level. Doesn't seem to have any attributes that make him stand out, and his decision making when on the ball is often very poor.

I've long since given up on the idea that any of our Academy lads will turn out to be any good but this caught my eye:

Finnish hitman Dalla Valla scored 20 goals in 28 appearances for the U18s last term:

20 in 28 would seem to be a very good record, no?

why dont we just let them develop?

f***ing hell........Amoo is a kid...let him train at Melwood for a season or two before heaping pressure on them

putting youth games on tv causes this

I see there that Andre Wisdom is about to begin his 1st year at the Academy. I hadn't realised he was still a schoolboy last season. Fecking big lad isn't he?

Yeah, he only just turned 16. Jack Robinson the lad who played LB in the final is only joining the u16s next year, won't be at the academy for another season.

They are also the only ones of age, really

Buchtmann and LDV are still eligible for another year at the academy

Is Pepper too young ?

He has another year at the academy, he's still really small so the extra year will give him a chance to grow and bulk up a bit.

LIVERPOOL SNAP-UP TOWN STARLET

Posted on: Tue 17 Nov 2009

The Hatters can confirm that Premier League giants Liverpool have signed the Under 15 player Dave Moli for an undisclosed fee.

Moli, who was recommended to the Town in 2006 before going onto sign Centre of Excellence forms, has been relocated to the North West and will now attend school on Merseyside in addition to training five times a week at the Reds' Academy.

Impressive displays for the Hatters' youth teams alerted the attentions of several Premier League clubs which eventually led to an illegal approach for the youngster that prompted an official complaint from the Town to the Football Association.

Liverpool, however, made an official approach in October which was accepted by the Hatters' board and Moli was invited to train for a week at their Academy in Kirkby.

After impressing the watching David Moss and Kenny Dalglish, Moli signed for the Reds on 29th October.

Youth Development Officer Gregg Broughton admitted the Club's decision to allow the Reds to speak to Moli was a tough one.

He said: "Although we never like to lose talented footballers from Luton Town, it is also important that if it is right for the Football Club that we don't stand in the way of a young player's development.

"It is not our usual policy to allow any of our young players to leave Kenilworth Road for another club.

"Nobody wants to see a player with potential such as Dave's leave but on this occasion we took into consideration a number of factors.

"The first is the value of the player in the short and long term, while the second takes into account the player's natural footballing progression and development.

"All of these aspects were taken into consideration and we felt it right to allow Dave and his family to talk to Liverpool.

"We're delighted to be able to accept a bid on behalf of such a big club but stress that the Club's policy of allowing young players to leave is a strict one.

"If we didn't undertake such a stringent policy we believe we would lose a number of our talented players to other clubs which would in tern have a detrimental affect on this Club in the long run."

Everyone at Luton Town wishes Dave the very best for the future.

Youth player. Check. English. Check. Lower league club. Check. Illegal approach. Check.

Has Hawwy Redknapp and Tottenham written all over this.
