Jose Mourinho has branded his former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba and Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo 'divers'.

The ex-Chelsea manager said the pair were among a number of Premier League stars who cheat to win free-kicks and penalties, also pointing the finger at Liverpool's Fernando Torres and Robin van Persie of Arsenal.

Mourinho repeatedly defended Drogba from accusations of diving during his three seasons at Stamford Bridge, but admitted he only did so to protect one of his players.

"I am no longer Chelsea manager and I don't have to defend them so I think it's correct if I say [Didier] Drogba is a diver," said Mourinho.

"[Cristiano] Ronaldo, Fernando Torres, Robin van Persie are the divers who won more penalties during the last four or five years."

Despite naming the Premier League's worst offenders, Mourinho said diving was less prevalent in England than in other countries because of a stronger sense of fair play.

"English football criticises divers. In England, coaches teach the kids how to play a game of football but in Italy, Spain and Portugal, coaches teach the kids how to win a game," he said.

"I hate diving, but I'm not happy if a player is kicked by somebody in the box and he tries to remain standing. It's very, very rare a referee gives a decision if the player doesn't go down so I tell players not to be naive, but to be fair."

I can't remember a single example of Torres being fouled to win us a penalty.

I can however remember plenty of examples of Mourinho being a complete c***. This is another of those.

How many pens has Torres won in his (one and a bit) years here?

He must miss playing us more than I thought.

shame the interviewer didn't ask him about his Porto team and divers

"I am no longer Porto manager and I don't have to defend them so I think it's correct if I say they are all divers"

I take it hes only wrong about the Torres bit?

Well, given that Torres hasn't had a single penalty awarded for a foul on him he's not right about it is he?

Drogba? Ronaldo? You aren't seriously going to argue they don't dive are you? Then again, knowing you...

he may be wrong about van Persie, no idea really, but I'll leave that one for the a*** to argue over.

It`s a painfully obvious attempt at pre-emptive psychology in advance of the champions league..

He thinks he is clever.

Just like Ferguson`s friday press conferences; a blunt attempt to put thoughts in relevant peoples (read refs) heads: not big, not clever and rather dull.

Only Rob Styles would respect the words of a mourinho or ferguson.

I'd love for a journalist to have an episode at one of those press conferences and just go up to his face and abuse him in a ten-minute rant about that ridiculous mind games s****. Punctuated with schoolyard "thick eejit" noises and gestures.

He says he doesnt like diving but yet admits Drogba is a diver.

In the 4 years Drogba was with Chelsea, Mourinho was his manager for 3 years.

3 years he constantly criticised Drogba for diving because he obviously doesnt like it .......................
