Ship him home for a mediocre loss

i think the team selection tonight showed to everyone Rafas seriousness about going for the league. Performance could have been better mind...

It`s a painfully obvious attempt at pre-emptive psychology in advance of the champions league.. He thinks he is clever. Just like Ferguson`s friday press conferences; a blunt attempt to put thoughts in relevant peoples (read refs) heads: not big, not clever and rather dull. Only Rob Styles would respect the words of a mourinho or ferguson.

The audio of this was played on BBC 5 Live today. The presenter wants the guy to get in touch so he can come on the show.

I remember the first 10 games or so for Celtic under Barnes and they were blinding, great football, great results...and then the wheels came off. He supposedly "lost the dressing room". God knows what he did in there...then came the Super-Cally and the Sack! Good Luck JB!

Brown McGrain McNeil Hansen Grieg White Souness Bremner Baxter Dalglish Law Or if you prefer a little hometown bias: Ferguson, King, Watson, Murray, McGrory, Beattie, McLean, McInally, Black, Sneddon, & McIlroy. -
I love/hate it when people say that. Money IS no guarantee, but it certainly helps. Manchester Utd have ALWAYS spent big money, and its been big spending over a long period that has bought them success [the last two years for instance have been a culmination of long term investment.], but only allied with good club management. The only time that money does not help is when it is misused; once more let me point you in the direction of the management of scumchester during the 70`s and `80s where they consistently threw cash at their team before realising that they had clowns in charge.

Man City reportedly inquired about Torres!

And...Newcastle won nowt [as usual] whilst Scumchester with Cole on board won quite a lot! Ferguson had the last laugh believe me. So what say u if any team in the EPL comes in and offers us £150m for Torres? Are you thinking, well i could get and almost as good striker and several other good players for that [assuming you got all the cash to spend] ? Do you take that gamble whilst simultaneously strengthening an opponent who have only give you cash they can easily afford to replace? That`s the gamble that never should be taken. Bullies hate it when you stand up to them. -

You DO NOT sell your better players to rival teams. It`s an admission that you are not at their level. Two examples from the Mancs: [1]They bought Andy Cole from Newcastle for £7m [an amount Keegan thought too good to turn down]. They strengthened themselves and neutered Newcastle in one go. This has been Fergusons policy down the line, and the Old Firms policy forever in Scotland. [2]Look at the fuss SAF made of us wanting to buy Heinze. An average to good player. He didn`t wanna sell simply because it was us. You DO NOT sell your better players to rival teams. Ever. -
The trouble is that American Leagues, such as the NFL, are effectively one company. Monopolies in fact. Also they work under the premise of parity, where all the members of the league have at least a theoretical chance of being equal to each other. In the EPL and especially in UEFA there is no gentlemans agreement to work together as partners for the benefit of the greater organisation. It`s dog eat dog. Man Utd don`t care if Hull City can compete with them, and Real Madrid [as has been shown this summer] don`t care if they step on the toes of Utd or Chelsea. It`s wrong, but it`s also the way that we have grown up with some clubs having long traditions of success and others being happy with their places lower in the hierarchy. Times have changed, but i doubt we will see legislated parity introduced into European football.

I have no idea what their standards are...and the Thai may have been trying to sell for much longer than 3 weeks...
-
Perhaps because they are serious business people and not fly-by-night profiteers?
-
It`s a scandal what the current [and previous] owners of the club have done to Liverpool. The previous owners sold out for a quick personal profit whilst alleging it was with the best intentions for the club in mind. It has become more and more obvious that the Septics are really only interested in maximising THEIR personal profit and that they entered into a deal that they could neither fully afford nor understand the scale of. Once more americans have shown ignorance of everything that goes on without their borders. However you can bet your mortgage they will fight tooth and nail in order to get as much cash out the club as possible before they sell it on. It`s a disgrace that an institution as big as Liverpool have to settle for 2nd or 3rd best all the time, where our natural rivals build upon the lead they already hold over us in the financial stakes. I hope Moores and Parry are ashamed of theirselves.

Whats wrong with Avi Cohen? Are i guys ALL anti-semits?
-
Ever since MON claimed that Liverpool leaked their "admiration" for Barry to the press in order to unsettle him, the only person talking about the deal (on a daily basis) to the press has been MON! The bloke seems to have a major problem with us...maybe it goes back to his playing days? He puts up a good front to the press but in IMHO he is not be trusted whenever he opens his mouth.
