XABI--

Why are we selling such a class act to basically finance a (decent) utility player?

DAVID SILVA--

I have to say he has really grown with the duration of the tournament. At first i thought he was a Garcia-alike, but he seems to be more integral to the game. Perhaps it`s the players who surround him?

TORRES--

Anyone else think he has looked tired and below par this tournament?

Ok great pass for Villas` first and good goal, but if i was Rafa i`d give the bloke and few extra days off.

SPAIN FTW BTW :-)

Torres will get extra days off.

Isn't the Alonso/Barry debate done to death?

Silva looks a very good player, not sure he is what we need though, we want someone who will stay wide imo.

Arshavin doesn't look so good after that match, he is very over rated on the back of a couple of good games. Thankfully our manager has a bit more planning in his transfers, signing him would be a disaster.

I've been of the opinion throughout that Torres has looked awesome physically, probably the strongest, quickest looking forward in the tournament.

I wouldnt go for Silva, I would go for Podolski. He is made for the PL. Feckin ace.

I'm the complete opposite, don't like Podolski or his attitude. Tends to go missing when the chips are down. s**** season at Bayern too. Think Silva would fit in alot better into our system and teams mentality.

A nice bit of guile to complement the hard running of Torres, Gerrard and Babel

A couple of good games?

Are you serious?

Arshavin has been immense all season, and not just this season but the season before.

Did you not watch Zenit's run to UEFA Cup success?

Obviously not, because that post is wrong in so many ways

Just out of interest, how much did you see of him last season? Serious question, because it does seem that his elevation to 'world class' (whatever that means) in the eyes of most people is based purely on the handful if games they've seen him have in the UEFA cup this season.

Genuinely interested to see how many people were aware of him before this season as I certainly wasn't, admittedly mainly as I don't have SKY and make no great effort to watch games other than ours.

Is this the same Arshavin that's got to 27 years of age without hardly anyone hearing about him?

Looked good but hype has gone into overdrive, as it always does for a few players during the big tournaments

What exactly did Xabi do today to merit this assessment?

I think Torres looked sharper today than he has in Spain's previous games.

Hopefully Torres will start and score in the final. That will be a perfect end to a great season for him.

I suspect the season he's just played was his longest ever - he's never had Europe to play in before.

I thought Torres looked his best in the tournament last night - mlively and ran the defence ragged, and softened them up for the other striker to come on and score. I prdict on Sunday he will explode into life.

Thought he was very good too. Ran them ragged.

Guiza came on and took advantage of a very tired defence.

He'll always start, but he must be frustrated at being taken off in every game he's played. He's most probably missed out on a couple of goals due to it.

Agreed but Flanders has surely gone too far the other way

Just like the bizarre 'Fabregas is sh*te' brigade the other day

True. He's clearly got ability.

The Fabregas denials are eve more odd.

I find him deeply irritating at times for Arsenal, but he's class. No doubt about it at all.

I don't think anyone doubted that he is a great player, Its more the overhyping of him (best midfielder in the world, better than Gerrard...etc) that some posters had a problem with

Torres played much better when he was on his own up front and Fabregas was given the Gerrard role and was able to latch onto balls much more - in my opinion that is! :D

I agree with that too, but some were saying he was s**** which is perplexing.

he's not better than Gerrard or a 'little genius' like that t*** on Sky calls him.

But he is ace. And he's been excellent in the tournament.

Senna's been the best player in the whole thing for me, as well.

I agree.

Villa is great, but last night i did wonder if his arrival (just speculating!) would unbalance what we have with FT and SG.
