We should not forget ther key role Baros played in our Champs League success.

 

Playing as a lone striker most of the time he held up the ball well, worked extremely hard and was an important part of that team.

 

Shame he couldn't lift his head when he was running and his finishing was eratic. Made the right decision to sell, but I thought he was very good in Europe that season.

Good to see his handballing instincts are still intact. Never seen a player handball so much in my life. Always did it for us, and always got away with it, which was nice. Was also pretty funny when one of his handballs for Villa led to a goal that beat Everton a couple of seasons back.

He makes me laugh. Not sure why but I just laugh when I see him on the pitch. Not that he is s*** or anything, he just seems to be the archetypal soft lad.

Isn't that the season where he scored a shedload and then got injured at christmas and didn't score again for the rest of the season?

 

We should have cashed in on him after Euro 2004. It really irks me that he lost us £5m odd by refusing to go to Lyon and then ended up there anyway.

 

And he's got a s***ty beard like Pires used to have.

nobody was going to pay more than that for him realisticaly

There were murmurings of £11-12m after Euro 2004 when Lyon were first in for him.

It was actually Barca and Real, but they never made a bif

 

Lyon interest came a season later when he had a choice between them and Villa and went to villa
