They are both obviously top class all hatred aside.

 

For me the difference is that when Rooney (who is the better 'footballers footballer' ie much more intelligent and doesn't rely on pace) is on his game he can win a game single handedly, however Ronaldo offers more to the United team in terms of the effect the threat of his pace provides and pure final product.

 

Week in week out Ronaldo will stretch opposition teams and cause them serious problems with his speed; he actually makes teams play more cautiously against them. Plus Ronaldo scores as many from midfield these days as Rooney does up front, maybe more which is pretty strong evidence in his favour.

 

I'd have to say Ronaldo is clearly the more effective player if not the better footballer.

Gerrard by a mile. But ask me the same question in a season or so and that might change.

 

Its obvious that Torres is a talent, ( I might add " A hell of a talent")but you should give him a couple of seasons before you even start to think he is better than Gerrard.

His attempt at getting a penalty the other night was pathetic and he deserved his booking, but I feel he is the most improved player at United this season and would hate to see him out for a long period. Fantastic player.

I think his positioning is occassionally poor, but he has the pace to get himself out of trouble.

 

Decent enough player. He is a s*** house though.
