Both awful. One thing that annoys me more though is when players are referred to in the plural

"Well you've got your Gerrards, your Carraghers" etc

f*** off

I f***ing hate that. Stupid f***ing s***. Can you not just say "Well you've got Gerrard and Carragher?" you f***ing t**. And its even worse when they add "of this world" onto the end.

Lamps and JT get on my f*cking t*ts.

Actually that sentence works on a number of levels :D

I'm sure I heard someone (I think it was Carra but I hope not!) call out "Lampsy" during the England v Brazil game.

JC and Lamps are mates

Wazza is the one that really pisses me off. It's takes longer to say than Wayne in an interview and sounds so contrived. We're all mates and have nicknames for eachother even if they sound completly brutal.

Is Joe Cole called Jozza?

Thick feckers.

In fairness, Wazza is actually his nickname and has been for a while but that shouldn't get in the way of a good slating :D

They're all s***.

I still want to knw what the elder Ferdinand brother has done to warrant being called Rio by all and sundry. He's not f***ing Madonna.

I'd forgotten about the "of this world" part. c**** c**** c****.

Whilst we're on this, one new trend appears to be saying "And he just about scored" when he has in fact scored

eg "Gerrard with the penalty....ooh and he just about outs it away. 1 nil Liverpool"

WHAT? c****.

The fact it is his first name?!

Other irritating examples of sports speak:

(1) To protest + (direct object). E.g. "Liverpool are to protest the three match ban given to midfielder Momo Sissoko". Where the f*** is the word 'against'? You protest AGAINST something.

(2) "It's a big ask". 'Ask' is not a f***ing noun.

The fact it is his first name?!

Yeah, because everyone always refers to his England team mates as "John", "Steve", "David" and "Michael" and his Manc team mates as "Gary", "Wayne", "Paul" and "Ryan".

Ah, I see your point. I have to confess, I mainly hear people call him Ferdinand or w*****. It's probably because he's an exotic-sounding pacy ball-playing centre-back.

he's not

hope this helps

There are similarities. They're both over-hyped, past their best, jumped-up tarts

I f*cking hate that. It's similar to when people say I incentivised him. Incentive isn't a verb, FFS.

Saying that though, it's in the f*cking dictionary now as is (couldn't believe this when I heard it) bootylicious :hmm:

'a big ask' is a great expression.

worst tabloid nickname is referring to gary c***house neville as 'red nev' as if the verminous tagnut were some kind of socialist working class hero.

JT calls Micheal Owen 'MO', pronounced 'Mow' as in 'mow your lawn'.

I guess they all call him MO.

I notice that Gerro and Carra get on really well with JT these days too.

Also, Andy Gray is c***

What about 'handed a boost'?

As in "Liverpool were handed a boost when Gerrard declared himself fit...'

How do you hand anyone a boost?

or

"Pool handed a boost as Gerro declared himself fit..."
