New York Red Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Very good players. Naldo, Alex and of course, Alves. God I'd love to sign them.
fyds Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Tonight isn't the issue though Jon - (got your pics by the way - been busy!) neither however is Naldo or Alex as we are very well covered in that department...also, at times, Naldo looked distinctly shall we say 'ill at ease' when faced with pace or a determined header of the ball when defending.
jariiiiiiiiiise Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Alves was distinctly average tonight. you rated him that high did you

And given we tend to play Chelsea at least six times a season, that aint good?
wacko Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 We don't go after more Brazilians because it's hard to get work permits in Britain (compared to Germany, Holland, Belgium, France etc. etc.). Unless they have an EU passport, the regulations stipulate they have to have played in 70% (I think) of their national side's games in the last two years. When you're talking about Brazil, those are some very expensive players.
Stevie H Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 really not convinced that alves would get on with english league football. and alex is owned by chelsea.
KD07 Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Dunno why we're not after Kaka. I think he's pretty good.
McBain Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 they smell I always figured getting a brazilian reduced the chance of odours
Cobs Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 i don't know why we don't buy more Uruguayans, they're kind of like Brazilians but cheaper, most probably that way we'd always be top of the League and have enough cash to buy everyone some ice cream
£440,000 Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 We've signed two in a year. First two we've ever signed. Some people are never happy. Don't care where players come from if they're good enough and play well.
Knox_Harrington Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 that way we'd always be top of the League and have enough cash to buy everyone some ice cream Sack everyone, install Cobs.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 no-one's mentioned a Wednesday night at Bolton in January won't SOMEONE think of the children?
Knox_Harrington Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 And then sack Cobs!Only once we've got the league and some ice cream out of him. Ice cream for preference. Now of your Walls s**** either. Haargen-Daas or Ben and Jerry's. Bagsy on Phish Food.
stressederic Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Why don't we go after more Senegalese f*** off i don't know why we don't buy more Uruguayans, they're kind of like Brazilians but cheaper, most probablythat way we'd always be top of the League and have enough cash to buy everyone some ice cream Not at your prices.
Guest Greasy Belcher Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 I used to watch a lot of South American football, It always struck me that the players were all more concerned with getting their own highlights packages together than winning the game as a team. It seemed nobody would ever get the ball and pass it, they would have to dribble through and opposition player before releasing the ball.
