I believe we have a great chance of progressing to the final of this competition. I believe we have the most tactically astute manager, a great squad of players who can turn it on anytime they want to and easily the best fans of any team on the planet. This is a winning combination others can only stand and gawp at. So come on, no weak hearts or trepidation. Let's have a strong, positive conviction going into battle here that we can triumph and overcome any enemy that stands in our way. We can do it, we all know deep down that we can so let's get right behind the boys on the pitch and lets send out strong, positive vibes and let's transmit that strength to our boys whether on here, down at the training ground or at Stamford Bridge and Anfield in the days to come. The message is a simple one; WE BELIEVE!

Whatever happens we'll do ourselves proud as supporters. We'll raise the roof at Anfield just like we did in 2005, I'm looking forward to that game so, so much and being part of another incredible European night.

If we can keep things tight at in the first leg we can roar the lads on to victory at our place. This is what being a supporter is all about, it's what makes life worth living. We know we can do this, it's what our club is all about from the supporters to the players and to the bloody tea lady.

We want number six and no f*cker is going to stand in our way.

Our team has heart, passion and huge self belief but they are human and they definately do respond to us, the fans, anybody going on Wednesday (and at Anfield for the 2nd leg) SIMPLY HAS TO GIVE 100% SUPPORT, non stop singing, chanting, a wall of noise, the Chavs have to understand that we wont stop, OUR players have to see us giving 100% not stopping for a minute supporting them continually.

Swinging scarfs, flags, banners really going for it, we all know it really makes a difference we are the 12th man, its not just a saying we make a difference to our team and them.

BUT we have to perform, we cant expect others to get the songs going, if you hear somebody making an effort to get a song going JOIN IN, dont wait for it to take off be one of the first to get it going, others round you will respond, we need people willing to get songs going or joining in earlier, EVERYBODY please make the effort.

At Anfield for the second leg no matter where you sit get singing, scarfs & flags out, dont stop making noise, contest every decision, shout for everything, scream for penalties, every one of their tackles is a foul against and we must pressure the ref on every tackle, remember the 2nd leg in 2005, we need that again MORE IF WE CAN!

My first match for nearly a year - we have to win.

Tactics, passion and belief - repeat of 2005 - conquer them in their own backyard and then unleash the 12th man at home.

I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,

Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:

Follow your spirit, and upon this charge

Cry 'God for Rafa, The Reds, and Saint Shanks!

The games will be close, we all know that and unless the result is something stupid the tie will not be finished after 90 minutes.

Chelsea have done excellent all season, and to still be involved in three trophies with one in the bank can only be applauded.

We have flattered to deceive this season, but in Europe we have excelled, we play differently, we have a different mind set. The last 2 or 3 Premiership games we have cruised, we've not got out of third gear never mind second, Chelsea on the other hand have had to go into every Premiership game at full pelt, and the tiredness was begining to show against Newcastle United on Sunday.

They are missing Essien and Ballack and possibly Carveliho who will be missed. Joe Cole coming back fresh is a massive boost, get hold of him and stop Drogba and you stop Chelsea at this present time.

We are fresh, our best players have been rested, we will be totally focused as we have no distractions.

We haven't scored at Chelsea or won under Rafa - this WILL change tonight.

We have won 3 of our last 4 games against Chelsea.

So they're due a win then. We've got the measure of them and should get a least a draw then.

LIverpool were nothing but a total disgrace tonight. Don't fool yourselves with upbeat talk... Europe is over for us unless we turn a new leaf very quickly... its done unless we play the game of our lives.

Rafa had a plan and it failed tonight... in fairness it happens to us all.. I wouldn't blame him.. id blame the players. I expected more from the experience that we had out there... they started and they had already folded.. gerrard only came to life in the 2nd half but at leasthe did... he did show some fight there so i wont go on about him... however, im in the depths of despair and i see no way out of it for us... we have to win without conceeeding basically. Our defence was terrible tonight so we will let one in... i dotn see us scoring 3 either so... f*** it

You sad, sad b*****d. Supposed to be lifting us up and being positive you muppet. I remember the guy behind me at the Attaturk screaming abuse at Smicer when he came on as sub that glorious night. A few minutes' later, he was screaming how much he loved him.

Nowt wrong with being positive.

Positives for next Tuesday:

We know exactly what we have to do whereas Chelsea will vacillate between trying to protect what they have or adding to their lead. and a single-minded team in that cauldron has a such an advantage over a team fluctuating between options. They fall between two stools (which also makes me think of Kuyt between Terry and Carvalho resulting in a penalty and a sending off ;) )

They will bring both Ballack and Essien back and one of those two will probably get sent off.

We have Rafa, they don't.

All Rafa needs to do is Monday night assemble the team, take a tour of the Museum and have everyone look at the 5 European Cups.

Or on tuesday put our Instanbul European Cup in the changing room ( glass encased) and just tell the lads they have 90 minutes and maybe more to get back to where we can win another. Then say no more.

Let them stare at it.

no he should show them a picture of the present one and say you are so close but you may never lift this cup if you dont win this game
