McBain Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Did they interrupt regular scheduling to tell us this?

floyd Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 subject to international clearance Been here before.
anny road Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Insúa f*** off will subject to international clearance Been here before. if you are referring to Gonzalez that was a work permit...different thing
Guest Portly Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 How likely is it that he will get a work permit? I shouldn't think that under-20 international games count towards that.

Herbie von Smalls Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 i thought i read he has an italian passport.
fyds Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 According to various websites, he does have an EU passport, though some reckon it's a French one. Apparently Real Madrid were after him too.
jon_hall Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 From what i've read it's International clearance we are waiting for only, which would lead me to suspect the passport issue isn't a problem.
Leo No.8 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 (edited) Yep, international clearance is totally separate to waiting for a work permit, so presumably he has a European passport. It is exciting to see young players with impressive reputations brought to the club, even if you haven't seen them play and in this case I haven't. I wonder if he's that highly thought of, whether his arrival could hasten the departure of Warnock? Stevie is a good lad, very committed in the tackle but I do think he has fairly serious limitations going forward. I can't remember him ever seriously contributing anything in the final third so perhaps he's not quite what we're after if we're pushing on and trying to get up into that top echelon with Chelsea and United. That said he could do a steady job for most Premier League clubs outside the top four and I'm sure will fetch a couple of million having had England call-ups in the not so distant past.
