Spot on right there. Its a fact that strikers perform poorly when they come here simply because they are asked to contribute too much on other areas of the pitch. That and the lack of movement and goal scoring ability of our midfield.........isnt it worrying that none of Alonso, Sissoko or Mascherano can be expected to pitch in with goals.......not much from Gonzalez or Pennant either....

I just don't think we will win the title or even challenge playing both Alonso and Sissoko together.......they just don't pose enough of a creative threat and don't get into the box enough

We do need that. But even if we do buy one, they;re not allowed to stay in the box and have to track back and defend as well..... That said, aside from Gerrard, we really don't have a creative midfielder, Alonso and Sissoko really is not the kind of midfield that poses an attacking threat from the center...... These are the times when we could have used some magic from Garcia

They would be doing just as important work over here, and certainly be better appreciated. In certains states there are signing on bonuses for nurses. Certainly there is nothing like a shortage of nurses to drive up wages.....would solve this problem in the UK

They should come over to the US, lots of demand and good money in nursing

If we play either Sissoko/Alonso or Alonso/Masch as CM where is the threat going to come from? Our wingers will be crossing the ball in to just Bellamy and Kuyt who will be outnumbered by the defenders, the deep lying CMs will not be making runs into the box because none of them are that kind of player.........

I think Rafa needs to cut the strikers some slack and allow them to actually hang around the opposing penalty area a little more. I think our strikers are asked to do far too much tracking back. Its no shock that we haven't had a 20 goal/season striker in a long time.
