While the forum has been overrun by transfer muppets. I think there is a significant element of the old guard who want the club to retain its family run image, not "buy" the title but still somehow challenge Chelsea and ManU for the title. Both sides of the argument need a big dose of reality. The sad truth is that we will not win the title buying on the cheap. The even more unfortunate truth is that 10 million these days does not buy the quality that it used to.

That post is a contradiction. Backing the manager for the best players means spending huge amounts of money. Thats the reality today.

I want a trio of something......like the Dutch trio of Gullit, Van Basten and the thrid person whose name I shockingly forget. A trio of Brazilians would be nice although I would settle for Argentinians or as a last resort English
