Don’t forget we can only sign 4 British players from other clubs and we have two (Frimpong & Woodman). We’re discussing another 4 here (Guehi, Olise, Wharton & Rodgers) - so unless we start using some of the NHG slots on them, we’re not getting them all. Jones would stay purely cos he’s club trained and as RBM implies, he deserves his squad place on merit anyway

But performances needing to "improve a lot"? Makes it sound like we fluked all three. Definitely a few areas that need work, but loads of encouraging stuff IMO

9 points from those three fixtures with 4 changes from last season's starting XI from is pretty impressive, no? Yeah, we've got to improve bits of our play but it'll come as things start to gel.

He signed a new contract at the start of 24-25 after he'd had a decent first team season in Klopp's last year, so assumed he'd have been on first-team squad-player money. Maybe £75k is a bit high - was just a guess really.

We've sold him for £30m + up to £5m add-ons Buyback is apparently €60m/£52m Let's assume he'd have been on £75k a week with us, that's about £8m over 2 years So if he comes back in 2 years with 60+ pro games in a decent league under his belt that he probably wouldn't have got here, it'll have cost us between £9-14m [£52m - £30m - £8m - up to £5m]

Realistically we're gonna need two or three CBs over the next two summers. If Konate's leaving we need to replace him. Even if not, Gomez contract is up in 2027 at which point Virg will be 36 I wonder if part of the the plan is to use the buy-back clause on Quansah back in summer 2027, assuming he progresses well at Leverkusen

I don't think refs are allowed to ask VAR to review something are they? It's a big failing of the system IMO - I'd far rather the refs were able to say "not sure about this, please check it for me" rather than wait to be told.
