In the context of the season, getting 3 points in the game against Brighton is way more important than giving the key players an extra 20-25 in a tie that was already over against Gala. We were 4-0 up, 3 up on aggregate. We were never losing that game or the tie in a million years. If you think that bringing the likes of Jones, Robbo, Gakpo & Ngumoha on at 65-70 mins would have led to us conceding a goal or two and taking the gloss off the evening then I really dunno what to say to you. Might even have put us in a better spot for Saturday

Nah, this is really obviously just Slot not trusting his squad. If we'd been playing on Sunday maybe understandable to see it that, but Wednesday to 1230 Saturday turnaround? That was just daft from him. Again.

The game was comfortably won. There was no rational reason for not making 3-4 subs on 65-70 mins with a Saturday 1230 coming up.

Would have loved the follow up question to this to have been "Given all that and that we were 4-1 up after 62 mins on Wednesday, how come you only made 2 subs - one injury enforced - before the 89th minute?" Not exactly giving his core squad the best chance for Saturday is it?
