  1. It looked very much like he knew the club needed the money and was willing to move on to facilitate that. Then the club screwed him over which would have altered his view point on helping them out. Now he's got to stay until at least Jan, when he'll only be 5 months from a big pay day - & I just don't see him doing anything to jeopardise that. Obviously there are scenarios where he signs in January but, IMO, they're really unlikely ones like us having a catastrophic CB injury crisis, in which case our season may already be knackered. As I said I reckon him signing a pre-contract with an overseas team is more likely than him coming here in January - and I don't think either is that likely 'cos I think we've already got a verbal agreement in place now.
  2. I'm sure there's a point you're itching to make here. Go ahead if there is....
  3. And he might also want to try to captain Palace to a European trophy and leave on that note. As others have said, I don't see that there's an amount of money that makes much sense for both sides in January - even before you get to Guehi giving up significant signing bonus money if he were to do so.
  4. The absurdity of that is Palace let it be known that they couldn't afford to not get any money for him, let him line up his preferred destination and STILL snatched it away from him. Now that's happened, there's little incentive for him to move in January & give up the extra money. Think both sides are happy to wait it out unless circumstances change drastically.

  6. Was more talking about teams like Chelsea. Pretty sure there was talk about him letting them know he wasn't interested in going back when once of their CBs got injured in August I think he's still lined up for us whenever we want him, but reckon he'll stay at Palace until the summer unless we've got massive injury issues that need us to bring it forward.
  7. Why would Guehi accept an offer to move in January? He’d be turning down a huge chunk of Bosman money. If you’re gonna spend months worrying about hypotheticals then him signing a pre contract with an overseas team is a more likely (but still not very likely) scenario
  8. Article. Last paragraph about Ibou is pretty telling

  12. Same as with Cymru. It's difficult to be competitive at the same level as the 80/90s when you've got a relatively small population and there's rugby vying for people's attention as well. And also in Ireland's case, Gaelic Games. You look back to those days and you wonder how Cymru/Scotland/NI/Ireland managed to be so competitive vs the bigger nations.
  13. “Exile” doing a lot of heavy lifting there. He’s had offers, but he’s obviously happy to (as he’s entitled to) carry on getting his £325k a week and not play. He’s won everything so little incentive to go prove himself again
  14. Cherki got injured
  15. Good mate of ours is a female ice hockey referee. Done the women's Winter Olympics gold medal game (which for a Brit is a massive honour) and reffed all levels of pro men's ice hockey in the UK. Takes absolutely no s*** from anyone - it's funny as f*** seeing her giving it back to a 6'4" bloke who thinks he knows the rules better than her 'cos she's a woman
  16. Had women on the line in PL games for a while now. Don't see any reason why reffing shouldn't be a thing in men's games if they're good enough and quick enough to keep up. God knows most of the men doing it are s***e
  17. As expected, on the bench for Sweden
  18. And TBF that’s largely what we’re doing too
  19. The bigger issue is that they need a 2/3 majority of clubs to change the rules, and I think Chelsea would have enough allies to prevent it. You'd imagine City, Villa, Newcastle, United, Forest and a couple of others would vote with them
  20. Mac A turns 27 in December and is contracted until 2028, so reckon now's a good time to stick 2-3 years onto his contract, which would take him until he's 31/32 Madrid come sniffing and we'll be quoting £100m+ for him I reckon, assuming we don't tell them to feck off first.
  21. Gonna be really interesting to see how good this kid is. You'd imagine him and Gomez will start against Southampton in the League Cup, so hopefully not too long before we see him play.
