.. breaking news on the beeb site... more soon From the Arsenal site Arsenal enter partnership with Colorado Rapids Arsenal today enters into an exclusive agreement with Kroenke Sports Enterprises (KSE) ? the leading live sports and entertainment group based in Denver - with the primary aims of building the Arsenal brand in the US; helping to improve the quality of football at MLS team Colorado Rapids and supporting grassroots football in the US. The establishment of this innovative strategic relationship will combine an exchange of best practices together with commercial and marketing efforts which includes the inception of a Centre of Excellence at Dick's Sporting Goods Park and the transfer of coaching ?know how?. Furthermore, a key component of this relationship is the development of the Arsenal Cup, a club tournament that will be open to American club teams from all over the United States which will be hosted at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, Colorado. Arsenal Football Club's Managing Director Keith Edelman enthused: "We are delighted to be able to announce our partnership with Kroenke Sports Enterprises and the Colorado Rapids. This is a very important step for Arsenal Football Club as this becomes our first venture into the United States marketplace. We are approaching this as a long term development partnership that will benefit both clubs significantly." KSE Executive Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer Paul Andrews said: "?We are trilled to have established such a partnership with one of the leading clubs in the world that will help continue the expansion of our sport well into the future." Colorado Rapids Managing Director Jeff Plush said: ?This groundbreaking partnership with Arsenal, a team that has been in the first flights of the sports for more then 100 years is the one of the stepping stones to continue pushing our sport into the next level. In today?s international business community, soccer is the only true global sport that transcends ethnicity, culture and language and with this type of relationships we are making sure that our company is expanding this vision through our worldwide sport.? The Rapids will travel to London on March 8th, where they will be hosted by Arsenal Football Club to continue their pre-season training camp practicing at their team facilities. The stint in London will end on March 13, when the team departs to their final stage of their preseason in Valencia, Spain. With a new era beginning for the team today and the opening of their new 18,000 seat soccer-specific stadium set for April 7, 2007, the Colorado Rapids are poised to set a new standard of excellence in Major League Soccer and around the world of sports.

I was with my Dad at one afternoon when I was a very young (7) walking around Anfield and Shankly was getting out of his car in the car park by the side of the Main Stand. We walked over to him and my Dad asked him for an autograph for me "Of course, what's yer name, son" So I told him. "Aye, and can yer kick with both feet" He said as he was signing the piece of paper "No, only with my left foot" "Well, you better learn quick, son, or you'll never play for this football club" Harsh but fair

I agree. I think we should call the stadium OPERATION ANFIELD EXERCISE

You'll forgive me if I say in advance that I'll trust Rafa's tactical nouse over yours. That said, you could be a tactical genius mooching around this forum to spreading the one, true gospel. Equally you could be a know nothing numbnuts. Not personal abuse you understand, just trying to figure you out

They need to batter you for saying Reina was man of the match then It wasn't throw away. It was calculated

I was chatting to a mate of mine who is a blue. He was there today and couldn't believe the crap the people around him were coming out with ( he was at the game, I wasn't) He said ( and I quote directly) "Jeez, Andy. This is getting mad. I reckon some of these lot are gonna explode soon" he was chuffed at their "win" (his words) and was shouting down the phone to me " you lost the league on Merseyside" I kippered him though I told his ex (my wife's best mate) that he'd bought a new car. She was giving him gyp all night

Pepe? I thought he was going to put a claim in for the dole - he had f*** all to do ( apart from one smashing save)

Agger played really well. Too many flat crosses not beating the first line of defence. That said I thought Everton defended well

Socrates - the coolest midfielder of all time?
Andy Mac replied to Snookie 's topic in General Football Discussion
I was 11 when the World Cup was held in Argentina. I remember having to go to bed from 7-10pm then getting up to watch the games - all that ticker tape and magical Latin music. AND Liverpool were beating everyone for fun... and you tell the kids of today that and they don't believe ya... LUXURY!! -

Phil, you're right it was a typo. It's 4.0(3/1) at the moment, what I meant to say was lay back for at least 1.5 the original price (so 9/2 or more) and lock in profit Either way, laying the draw is the best option where you think there'll be goals as the market fluctuates

I'd lay the draw all day and all night on this game(purely on form). There'll be goals (Liverpool's hopefully) wait for the 1st one to go in and lay back the draw for easy profit. especially if Liverpool score first, the draw odds would go 1.5 or less The caveat being - form goes out the window in derby games ( any derby not just the Merseyside derby) AND I very, very rarely have a bet on games that Liverpool participate in.
