  1. It's time to play the music. It's time to light the lights..........
  2. The whole Justice protest went off brilliantly. It looked and sounded amazing. A credit to everyone involved. As for the match - I'm still not totally convinced Crouch and Kuyt can play up front together. I think we look ponderous and "blunt" when they play. Dudek was poor today. His position for the first goal was poor. For the second the defending was keystone kops but he still should have got a hand to it. He should have saved the third, too. I think we were odds on to score an equaliser before Carra tried (understandably) to keep the ball in play for their third. Still, that's the way it goes. Look on the bright side, the last time we went out of the Cup so early we ended up as Champions of Europe
  3. I can't possibly win this one . All I'll say is Xabi moved his leg/foot to ensure it hit the defender's leg, it was clever of Xabi to do it and the majority of Refs would have given it. Bennett was really well placed to see it ( too well ) and didn't buy it/give the pen. The booking (in my opinion) was harsh. I still don't think Bennett cheated.
  4. As I said in my original post. Xabi played for it ( you seem to agree somewhat) Bennett just didn't buy it. It's not cheating, its interpretation.

  6. I think that Xabi played for it. If you look at it closely he actually puts his leg towards the defender's tackling leg (nothing wrong with that in my opinion it was a rash challenge). In my opinion, it was clever play by Xabi and 9/10 times the ref would have bought it. Steve Bennett was excellently positioned and made his mind up on what he saw. He didn't cheat and he's not a bad ref. I thought he had a good game actually. Just because we lost it doesn't automatically follow that the ref was s*** or that he cheated.

  12. Happily, Jon was too busy chatting that codger up to take any snide pics. I'm sure I heard him say "The match finishes at about 5pm, do you live locally? Cos I've got a lion in my pocket and baby it ready to roar"
  13. My person favourite was "Manchester: A trophy free zone" Those were the days, I tells ya !

Cheers. And I will. It's been a long road to get to where I am now (in some way getting over it) but I'm determined to have a good 2007 and beyond. Allez les Rouge

    Look at this

Not wishing to put a downer on things but I was offered a ticket for the game for £250 on friday am. My mum had been really ill and was just coming out of a major problem with a swelling in her brain. Anyway, it had cleared up and she was 1 day out of a major confusional state - and I promised her I'd take a picnic in and we'd watch the game on the ward. Cut a long story short, I told her before the game that I didn't care whether we won or lost but to have he back ( from her confusional state) meant more to me than anything. She told me to shut up and we'd win the cup and it'd be the icing on the cake. When Gerrard scored she jumped up and gave the pay out to anyone who'd listen - and who doubted us. I can feel her hug as I type this. She had a fag in extra time and was there to see us win on penalties. Sadly, she died on the following Monday. So the Gerrard goal is a truly bitter sweet memory to me. To my mum a true Red who felt the glory and the pain !!! I want to call her everytime I go to the match
  22. Yeah a k****ead behind me started singing that.. and a song about lasagne (only eating the cheese) which sounded bizarre. Or am I missing something?

    Kuyt

I don't agree with that. I think he needs to do exactly what he's doing, apart from spooning that good chance over the bar . I think he and Bellamy will be a good partnership up front
  24. We'd be a poorer team without him. His performances can be a bit patchy and he has wrestled with personal ambition over glory for Liverpool. All I can say is thank Christ he stayed. I think he'll be a future manager of the club, too. GK - As for not singing his name - then you're just showing that you are a bigger, moodier person than the one you're criticising. At least he snaps out of it and does the biz. What do you do? Sing other players names louder? Or just twiddle yer thumbs when the Steve Gerrard song is sung?
